1.45oz of Light Worsted Weight #3 Yarn in Contrast Color
5.50mm crochet hook
2 Decorative Buttons for Nappy Cover
GAUGE - 4hdc and 3 rows of hdc's measures approx 1 Inch

Nappy Cover - With 5.50mm hook ch53 loosely, work 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in
each ch to end. Turn. (50dc + ch3)
Row 2 - ch3, * 1dcf in next dc, 1dcb in next dc, * (see abbrev for dcf & dcb) rpt
from * to * to ch3 to turn, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn.
Row 3 - ch2, 1hdc in each stitch to end, 1hdc in top of ch2. Turn. Rpt last row twice
more. Turn. Fasten off.
Row 6 - Skip 14hdc, re-join yarn to next hdc, ch2, 1hdc in each of next 22hdc,
turn leaving 13hdc and ch2 un-worked. (22hdc + ch2)
Row 7 - ch2, 1hdc in each hdc to end, 1hdc in top of ch2. Turn.
Row 8 - (Dec Row) ch2, dec 1hdc (see abbrev) over next 2hdc, 1hdc in each of next
17hdc, dec 1hdc over next 2hdc, 1hdc in top of ch2. Turn. (20hdc + ch2)
Row 9 - ch2, 1hdc in each hdc to end, 1hdc in top of ch2. Turn.
Row 10 (Dec Row) ch2, dec 1hdc over next 2hdc, 1hdc in each of next 15hdc, dec 1hdc
over next 2hdc, 1hdc in top of ch2. Turn. (18hdc + ch2)
Row 11 - ch2, 1hdc in each hdc to end, 1hdc in top of ch2. Turn. Rpt last row 13
more times, making 24 rows in all. Turn.
Row 25 - ch3, 1dc in each hdc to end, 1dc in top of ch2. Turn. (18dc + ch3)
Row 26 - ch3, * 1dcf in next dc, 1dcb in next dc, * rpt from * to * to ch3 to turn,
1dc in top of ch3. Turn. Fasten off.
Edge - With contrast color yarn and 5.50mm hook, ch1, 2sc in base of ch1, working
3sc in all corners work sc evenly all around cover to end, 1sc in base of ch1, sl
st to first sc. Turn. Rpt last row once. Fasten off.
Finishing - Sew decorative buttons to each side on the front flap (Use gaps between
dc's to fasten)
Beanie Hat - (Made in rounds without turning until Row 6)
With 5.50mm hook and main color yarn, make a magic circle, ch3, work 11dc in circle,
pull loose thread to close, join with sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row.
Row 2 - ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, 2dc in each of next 11dc, sl st to top of ch3 on
beginning of row. (23dc + ch3)
Row 3 - ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, 1dc in next dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in next dc,
* rpt from * to * to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. (35dc + ch3)
Row 4 - ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, 1dc in each of next 2dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in
each of next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row.
(47dc + ch3)
Row 5 - ch3, 1dc in next dc, 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of next 5dc, * 2dc in next
dc, 1dc in each of next 5dc, * rpt from * to * to last 4dc, 2dc in next dc, 1dc in
each of last 3dc, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. (55dc + ch3)
Rows 6-10 - ch2, 1hdc in each stitch to end sl st to top of ch2 on beginning of row.
TURN.
Row 11 - ch3, 1dc in each hdc to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn.
Brim - ch3, * 1dcf in next dc, 1dcb in next dc, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to
top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn. Fasten off.
Join in contrast, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc to end, sl st to first
sc. Starting with ch1, work 1sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc. Fasten off.
Motif x 2 - I used a snail motif from my sister website, click here to get it.
Finishing - Sew in and tie off any loose ends of yarn, attach motifs to front of
hat and nappy cover.
