GAUGE - 4dc and 2.5 rows measures approx 1 Inch

Bonnet - # Worked in rounds without turning for 6 rows


With color 1, ch6, join with a sl st to form a ring, (RS) ch3, work 13dc in ring, join with sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. (13dc + ch3)

 

Row 2 - (Inc Row) ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, 2dc in each of next 12dc, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. (27dc + ch3)

 

Row 3 - (Inc Row) ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, 1dc in next dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in next dc, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. (41dc + ch3)

 

Row 4 - (Inc Row) ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, 1dc in each of next 2dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. (55dc + ch3) #

 

Row 5 - ch3, 1dc in each of dc to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row.

 

Row 6 - ch3, 1dc in each dc to end. Turn.


Row 7 - (see abbrev for instructions on shell and vst)

ch3, * shell in next dc, skip 2dc, vst in next dc, skip 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last 4dc and ch3, skip 2dc, shell in next dc, skip 1dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (9 shells, 8 vst, 1dc + ch3)


Pattern Row - ch3, * work shell in ch1 space of next shell, vst in ch1 space on next vst, * rpt from * to * to last shell and ch3 to turn with, work shell in ch1 space of shell, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn.


Rpt Pattern Row until 7 shell & vst rows have been worked in all or work measures approx 5.5 Inches from crown. Fasten off.


Next Row - Join in color 2, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, skipping all ch1 spaces, work 1sc in each dc to end, 1sc in top of ch3. Turn. (54sc)


Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 2 rows of 1sc in each sc to end. Fasten off.


Ties - With color 2 ch60. Fasten off. (will come back too)

 

With color 2, ch61, work sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in each of the next 59ch, with RS facing work 39sc evenly in row ends along the neck edge on bonnet, (this joins first tie to side of bonnet) return to 60ch made earlier and work a sl st in each of the 60ch (this joins second tie to bonnet). Fasten off.

 

Finishing - Sew in and tie off loose ends of yarn.


Bobble Hat - Rpt from # to # on bonnet.


5th Row - (Inc Row) ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, 1dc in each of next 3dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of next 3dc, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. (64dc + ch3)


6th Row - ch3, 1dc in each dc to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn.


7th Row - ch3, skip 1dc, * shell in next dc, skip 2dc, vst in next dc, skip 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last 3dc, shell in next dc, skip 2dc, 1dc in base of ch3, ch1, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn. (11 shells, 11 vst, 1dc + ch3)


Row One - sl st to first ch1 space, (ch4, 1dc) in same space * work shell in ch1 space of next shell, vst in ch1 space on next vst, * rpt from * to * to last shell, work shell in ch1 space on shell, sl st to 3rd of ch4 on beginning of row. Turn.


Row Two - sl st to first ch1 space, (ch3, 1dc, ch1, 2dc) in same space, * work vst in ch1 space of next vst, shell in ch1 space of next shell, * rpt from * to * to last vst, work vst in ch1 space on vst, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn.   


Rpt Rows One & Two until 7 shell & vst rows have been worked in all from yoke or work measures approx 5.5 Inches from crown. Fasten off.


Next Row - Join in color 2, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, skipping all ch1 spaces, work 1sc in each dc to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn. (68sc)


Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 2 rows of 1sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of each row. Fasten off.


Make a pom-pom in color 2, I used Clover Pom-Pom maker size 45..


Finishing - Weave in any loose ends of yarn and trim, attach pom-pom to crown of bobble hat.
