25 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in White (001) Main colour

Small amount of King Cole big value baby DK in 3 Contrast Colours

OR

1oz of Light Worsted Weight #3 Yarn in Main Color

Small amount of Light Worsted Weight #3 Yarn in 3 Contrast Colors

5.00mm & 4.00mm crochet hooks

GAUGE - 6hdc and 3 rows of hdc's measures approx 1” Square

Commence with Sole - With 4.00mm hook and main color, ch11, (RS) 3hdc in 4th ch from hook, 1hdc in each of next 6ch, 8hdc in last ch, working on opposite side of cast on ch, work 1hdc in each of next 6ch, 4hdc in last ch, sl st to top of

the ch3 on beginning of row. DNT. (27hdc + ch3)

 

Next Round - ch2, work 2hdc in each of next 3hdc, 1hdc in each of next 8hdc, 2hdc in each of next 6hdc, 1hdc in each of next 8hdc, 2hdc in each of last 2hdc, 1hdc in base of ch2, sl st to top of ch2. DNT. (39hdc + ch2).

 

Next Round - ch2, skip first hdc, 1hdc in each hdc to end, 1hdc in base of ch2,

sl st to top of ch2. DNT. (39hdc + ch2).

 

Next Round - Working in back loop of stitch only, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc

in each hdc to end, sl st to first sc. Turn (40sc)

 

Next Round - Working through both loops ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each

sc to end, sl st to first sc. Turn (40sc). Rpt last row once. Fasten off.

 

Instep

With WS facing and counting from where you fastened off, skip 10sc, rejoin yarn with a sl st too next sc, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in next 19sc. Turn leaving 10sc un-worked. (20sc)

 

Next Row - (Dec Row) ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, dec 1sc over next 2sc, (see abbrev above) 9 times, 1sc in last sc. Turn. (11sc)

 

Next Row - (Dec Row) ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, (dec 1sc over next 2sc) 5 times. Turn. (6sc)

 

Next Row - ch1, insert hook and pull up loop in each sc, yo and pull through all 7 loops on hook to close, work ch1. Fasten off.

 

Top - With 4.00mm hook, main color and WS facing rejoin yarn to back seam, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1sc in each of next 9sc, 8sc evenly across top of instep, work 1sc in each of next 10sc, sl st to first sc. Turn. (28sc)

Next Row - ch3, 2dc in base of ch3, * skip 1sc, 1sc in next sc, skip 1sc, 3dc in next sc, * rpt from * to * to last 3sc, skip 1sc, 1sc in next sc, skip 1sc, sl st to top

of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn. Fasten off. (7, 3dc Groups)

 

Pattern Row - Working in back loop only of all sc's and using first contrast color, join yarn with a sl st to first sc, ch3, 2dc in same sc, * skip 1dc, 1sc in centre dc

of 3dc group, skip 1dc, 3dc in next sc, * rpt from * to * to last 3dc group, skip 1dc, 1sc in next dc, skip 1dc, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn. Fasten off. Rpt Pattern Row once in each of the remaining 2 contrast colors. Fasten off.

Rpt Pattern Row twice in main color. Fasten off.

 

With 5.00mm hook and top of bootie towards you, rejoin main color yarn with a sl st to back seam, ch1, work one row of crab stitch, (see abbrev above) in loose loops on sole of bootie, sl st to first sc on beginning or row. Fasten off.

Finishing - Sew in and tie off any loose ends of yarn.
