Cardigan (Back) - With 4.00mm hook and colour 1, make 7ch, 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each ch to end. Turn. (6dc)

Rib - Working in back loop of stitch only, make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into dc to end. Turn.

Rpt last row until 43 rows have been worked in all from beginning.

Do not turn, work into row ends along side of rib make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each row end to end. Turn. (43dc)

Next Row - 1ch, (1dc, 1htr, 1tr) into base of 1ch, * miss 2dc, (1dc, 1htr, 1tr) into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 3dc, miss 2dc, 1dc into last dc. Turn. (14 Groups)

Pattern Row - 1ch, (1dc, 1htr, 1tr) into base of 1ch, * miss 2st, (1dc, 1htr, 1tr) into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 3st, miss 2st, 1dc into last dc. Turn.

Rpt Pattern Row until 6 pattern rows have been worked from rib. Fasten off. Turn.

Join in colour 2 and rpt Pattern Row until 32 pattern rows have been worked in all from rib. Fasten off.

Left Front - # With 4.00mm hook and colour 1, make 7ch, 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each ch to end. Turn. (6dc)

Rib - Working in back loop of stitch only make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into dc to end. Turn.

Rpt last row until 19 rows have been worked in all from beginning.

Rpt Pattern Row from back until 6 pattern rows have been worked from rib. Fasten off. Turn. (6 Groups)

Join in colour 2 and rpt Pattern Row until 26 pattern rows have been worked from rib. Fasten off. Turn. #

Shape Neck - Miss 6st, rejoin colour 2 to next dc, 1ch, (1dc, 1htr, 1tr) into base of 1ch, * miss 2st, (1dc, 1htr, 1tr) into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 3st, miss 2st, 1dc into last dc. Turn. (4 Groups)

Rpt Pattern Row until 32 rows have been worked in all from rib. Fasten off.

Right Front - Work same as Left from # to #

Shape Neck - Work Pattern Row from back until last 3 groups, miss 2st, 1dc into next dc. Turn, leaving last 2 groups un-worked. (4 Groups)

Rpt Pattern Row until 32 pattern rows have been worked in all from rib. Fasten off.

Sleeves x 2 - With 4.00mm hook and colour 1, make 7ch, 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each ch to end. Turn. (6dc)

Rib - Working in back loop of stitch only make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end. Turn.

Rpt last row until 27 rows have been worked in all from beginning.

Do not turn, working into row ends along side of rib make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each row end to end. Turn. (27dc)

2nd Row - 1ch, 2htr into base of 1ch, 1htr into each dc to last dc, 2htr into last dc. Turn. (29htr)

3rd & 4th Row - 1ch, 1htr into base of 1ch, 1htr into each htr to end. Turn.

Rpt 2nd to 4th Rows until you have 31htr and 6 htr rows have been worked from rib. Fasten off. Turn.

Join in colour 2 and continue to rpt 2nd to 4th Rows until you have 37htr and 15 htr rows have been worked from rib. Fasten off. Turn.

Over sew or ss shoulder seams together.

Button/Buttonhole Bands - With RS facing, colour 1 and using 5.00mm hook, start on lower edge of right hand front edge, make 1ch, work 32dc evenly into row ends to corner, 3dc into corner, work 12dc evenly along first neck edge to shoulder, 1dc into each of next 18dc across back, 12dc evenly along second neck edge, 3dc into corner, work 32dc evenly into row ends down second front edge. Turn.

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1 more row in dc all around cardigan working 3dc into corners. Turn.

Button Band - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to neck edge, turn at neck edge.

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each dc to end. Fasten off.

Buttonhole Row - Return to opposite front edge, with RS facing working from neck down, work 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * make 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into each of next 6dc, * rpt from * to * 3 more times, 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into each of last 5dc. Turn. (5 Buttonholes made)

Next Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc and 2ch space to end. Fasten off.

Finishing - Fold sleeves in half lengthways, place centre stitch to shoulder seams, over sew with needle and yarn or ss into position.

Join side and sleeve seams together by over sewing with needle and yarn or ss.

Weave in and trim off loose ends of yarn. Sew on buttons to correspond with buttonholes.
