4.00mm crochet hook, 3 buttons


GAUGE - 5dc and 2.5 rows measure approx 1 Inch using 4.00mm hook

Coat - Worked in one piece, starting with yoke.


Using 4.00mm hook and color 1 ch55, (RS) 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in the next 6ch’s (front), 3dc in next ch, 1dc in next 8ch’s (shoulder), 3dc in next ch, 1dc in the next 17ch’s (back), 3dc in next ch, 1dc in the next 8ch’s. (shoulder), 3dc in next ch, 1dc in the next 8ch’s (front). Turn. (60dc + ch3)


2nd Row - (Inc Row) ch3, * 1dc in each dc to next 3dc group, 1dc in next dc, 3dc in centre dc of 3dc group, * rpt from * to * to last 3dc group, 1dc in next dc, 3dc in centre dc of 3dc group, 1dc in each dc to ch3 to turn with, work 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (68dc + ch3)

Rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2.


Change to color 1 and rpt Pattern Rows 3 & 4.


Rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2. Fasten off. Turn.


Bottom & Front Edgings Including Buttonholes - Join in color 2


With WS facing ch1, 2sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc and ch1 space to last ch3 to turn with, 3sc in top of ch3, working in row ends work 39sc evenly up first front edge to neck, 3sc in corner, work 1sc in each ch along cast on edge around neck to next corner, 3sc in corner, 39sc evenly in row ends down second front edge, 1sc in base of ch1, sl st to first sc. Turn.


Buttonhole Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each of next 23sc, * ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in each of next 7sc, * rpt from * to * once, ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in last sc. Turn. (3 buttonholes made)


Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each ch2 space and sc to corner, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each st along bottom of coat to next corner, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each sc to neck edge. (Do not work around the neck) Turn.


Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1sc in each sc to corner. Fasten off.


Sleeves x 2 - With WS facing, rejoin color 1 to centre dc of 3dc under arm, ch3, 1dc in each of next 26dc, 1dc in centre dc of 3dc on opposite side of sleeve under arm, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn. (27dc + ch3)


Next Row - ch3, 1dc in each dc to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn.


Rpt last row until 6 rows have been worked, change to color 2 and rpt last row twice, change back to color 1 and rpt last row three more times, you will have 11 rows worked from yoke or the sleeve seam will measure approx 4.7 Inches. Fasten off.


Cuff - Join in color 2, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc to end,

sl st to first sc. Turn. (28sc)


Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc. Fasten off.


Finishing - Close small gaps under arms, weave in and trim off loose ends of yarn. Sew on buttons to correspond with buttonholes.


Headband - Using color 1 ch65 loosely, sl st to first ch to form a ring.

ch3, 1dc in next ch, ch1, skip 1ch, * 1dc in each of next 5ch, ch1, skip 1ch, * rpt from * to * to last ch2, 1dc in each of last ch2, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn. (10, 5dc blocks, 3dc + ch3)


Next Row - ch3, 1dc in each of next 2dc, ch1, skip ch1 space, * 1dc in each of next 2dc, popcorn in next dc, 1dc in each of next 2dc, ch1, skip ch1 space, * rpt from * to * to last dc, 1dc in last dc, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn. (10 Popcorns)


Next Row - ch3, 1dc in next dc, ch1, skip ch1 space, * 1dc in next 5st, ch1, skip ch1 space, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc, 1dc in each of last 2dc, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Fasten off. Turn. (10, 5dc blocks, 3dc + ch3)


Edging - With RS facing join in color 2, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc and ch1 space to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn. (65sc)


Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Fasten off.


Rpt the last 2 rows around the cast on edge. Fasten off.


Finishing - Weave any loose ends of yarn and trim.
