120 grams of King Cole Melody DK in Colour 1
100 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in Colour 2
4.50mm crochet hook
3 buttons, 1.5mtrs of 6mm wide ribbon (approx)
TENSION - 5tr and 2 rows measures approx 1 Inch

Coat - Worked in one piece, starting with yoke.
Using colour 1 make 55ch, 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into the next 5ch’s (Front),
3tr into next ch, 1tr into next 8ch’s (shoulder), 3tr into next ch, 1tr into the
next 19ch’s (Back), 3tr into next ch, 1tr into the next 8ch’s. (shoulder), 3tr into
next ch, 1tr into the next 7ch’s (Front). Turn. (60tr + 3ch)
2nd Row - (Inc Row) Make 3ch, * 1tr into each tr to next 3tr group, 1tr into next
tr, 3tr into centre tr of 3tr group, * rpt from * to * to last 3tr group, 1tr into
next tr, 3tr into centre tr of 3tr group, 1tr into each tr to end, work 1tr into
top of 3ch. Turn. (68tr + 3ch)
3rd to 8th Row - rpt 2nd Row. Turn. (116tr + 3ch)
9th Row - (Divide for Armholes and Inc) - Make 3ch, 1tr into each of next 2tr, *
2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of next 3tr, * rpt from * to * twice, 2tr into centre
tr of 3tr group, make 1ch, miss 24tr, (armhole) rpt from * to * 9 more times, 2tr
into centre tr of 3tr group, make 1ch, miss 24tr, (armhole) rpt from * to * to end,
working last tr into top of 3ch. Fasten off. Turn. (86tr, 2, 1ch spaces + 3ch)
Commence Skirt - Join in colour 2, make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each
dc and 1ch space under arms to end. Turn. (89dc)
Pattern Row 1 - 4ch, miss 1dc, 1ps (see abbrev) into next dc, * 1ch, miss 1dc, 1tr
into next dc, 1ch, miss 1dc, 1ps into next dc, * rpt from * to * (using 1ch spaces
underarms as a dc) to last 2dc, 1ch, miss 1dc, 1tr into last dc. Turn.
Pattern Row 2 - Make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each st to last 4ch, 1dc
into 4ch space, 1dc into 3rd of 4ch. Turn. (89dc)
Rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 until 17 rows have been worked in all from yoke or work measures
approx 11 inches from shoulder. Fasten off.
Sleeves x 2 - Join colour 1 to side of tr under arm, make 3ch, work 1tr into same
space, 1tr into each of next 24tr, 2tr into side of tr under arm on opposite side
of sleeve, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Fasten off. Turn. (27tr + 3ch)
2nd Row - Join in colour 2, make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr to end,
ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (28dc)
3rd Row - 4ch, miss 1dc, * 1ps into next dc, 1ch, miss 1dc, 1tr into next dc, 1ch,
* rpt from * to * last 3dc, miss 1dc, 1ps into next dc, 1ch, miss 1dc, ss to 3rd
of 4ch on beginning of row. Turn.
4th Row - Make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each st to end, ss to first dc
on beginning of row. Turn. (28dc)
Rpt 3rd & 4th Rows until 13 rows have been worked in all from yoke or underarm seam
measures approx 5 inches. Fasten off. Turn.
Join in colour 1 and starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each
dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. Rpt last row once. Fasten off.
Button/Buttonhole Bands - With RS facing, join colour 1 to lower edge of right hand
side of front edge, make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 43dc evenly into row ends
up first front edge to corner, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each ch around neck to next
corner, 3dc into corner, work 43dc evenly into row ends down second front edge to
corner. Turn.
Next Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to corner. Turn.
Rpt last row twice. Fasten off.
Buttonhole Row - Join colour 1 to neck edge on opposite front, make 1ch, 1dc into
base of 1ch, * make 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into each of next 8dc, * rpt from * to * once,
make 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into each dc to end. Turn.
Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each dc and 2ch space to end.
Turn. Starting with 1ch, work 1dc into each dc to end. Fasten off.
Finishing - Close small gap under arms, weave in any loose ends of yarn, attach buttons
to correspond with buttonholes, make ribbon bows and add to fronts for decoration.
Pants - Using colour 1, make 92ch, ss to first ch to form a ring, 3ch, (RS) 1tr in
each ch to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. (91tr + 3ch)
Row 2 - Make 3ch, 1tr into each tr to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row.
Turn.
Rpt Row 2 until 14 rows have been worked or work measures approx 6.5 Inches from
beginning. Turn.
Divide for legs - Make 3ch, 1tr into each of next 45tr, ss to top of 3ch on beginning
of row, turn leaving remaining 46tr un-worked
Rpt Row 2 until 10 rows have been worked from division or work measures approx 11
Inches from waist. Fasten off.
Second Leg - Return to un-worked 46tr at division, join yarn to next tr, make 3ch,
continue in the same way as first leg. Fasten off.
Waistband - With RS of work facing, starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work
92dc evenly along cast on edge at waist to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row.
Turn
Rpt last row by working 1dc into each dc to end and ss to first dc on beginning of
row. Fasten off.
Finishing - Weave in all loose ends of yarn and trim off, thread ribbon through alternate
tr's on waist and through the 9th row of tr's on bottom of legs.
