Bodice (Starting with back) - With 5.00mm hook and colour 1 make 41ch, (RS) 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into each ch to end. Turn. (38tr + 3ch)


Next Row - 3ch, 1tr into each tr to end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn.


Shape Armholes - 1ch, ss across first 4tr, 3ch, 1tr into each tr to last 2tr and 3ch, turn leaving last 2tr and 3ch un-worked. (32tr + 3ch)


Next Row - 3ch, tr2tog (see abbrev) over next 2tr, 1tr into each tr to last 2tr and 3ch, tr2tog over next 2tr, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (30tr + 3ch)


Next Row - 3ch, 1tr into each tr to end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn.


Rpt last row until 10 rows have been worked in all from beginning. Fasten off.


Bodice Front - With colour 1 make 41ch, 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into each ch to end. Turn. (38tr + 3ch)


Shape Armholes & Make Front Opening


First Side - 3ch, 1tr in each of next 18tr, turn leaving 19tr and 3ch un-worked. (18tr + 3ch)


Next Row - 3ch, 1tr in each of next 15tr, turn leaving last 2tr and 3ch un-worked. (15tr + 3ch)


Next Row - 3ch, tr2tog over next 2tr, 1tr into each tr to end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (14tr + 3ch)


Next Row - 3ch, 1tr into each tr to end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn.


Rpt last row until 7 rows have been worked in all from beginning. Turn.


Shape Neck - 3ch, 1tr into each tr to last 2tr and 3ch, turn leaving last 2tr and 3ch un-worked.


Next Row - 3ch, tr2tog over next 2tr, 1tr into each tr to end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn.


Next Row - 3ch, 1tr into each tr to end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Fasten off.


Second Side - Return to un-worked 19tr at opening, miss first tr, rejoin yarn to next tr, 3ch, 1tr into each tr to end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (18tr + 3ch)


Shape Armhole - 1ch, ss over first 4tr, make 3ch, 1tr into each tr to end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (15tr + 3ch)


Next Row - 3ch, 1tr into each of next 12tr, tr2tog over next 2tr, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (14tr + 3ch)


Next Row - 3ch, 1tr into each tr to end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn.


Rpt last row until 7 rows have been worked in all from beginning. Fasten off.


Shape Neck - Miss 3tr, rejoin yarn to next tr, make 3ch, 1tr into each tr to end. Turn. (11tr + 3ch)


Next Row - 3ch, 1tr into each tr to last 2tr and 3ch, tr2tog over next 2tr, 1tr into top of 3ch.


Next Row - 3ch, 1tr into tr to end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Fasten off.


With WS facing sew up side and shoulder seams, turn through to right side.


Commence skirt - With RS facing and front of bodice to the front, rejoin colour 1 under left armhole, working along bottom of bodice make 5ch, tr2tog into base of 5ch, miss 2ch, * tr2tog, 2ch (twice), tr2tog all into next ch, miss 2ch, * rpt from * to * around back and front of bodice to last 2ch, miss 1ch, work (tr2tog, 2ch, plus 1tr until 2 loops remain on hook) into next ch, insert hook into 3rd of 5ch on beginning of row and pull loop through the 2 loops left on hook. Turn. (26, groups)


Row 1 - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, make 4ch, * 1dc into centre tr2tog of next group, 4ch * rpt from * to * to end, ss to first dc. Turn.


Row 2 - 5ch, tr2tog into base of 5ch, * tr2tog, 2ch (twice), tr2tog into next dc, * rpt from * to * to end, work (tr2tog, 2ch plus 1tr until 2 loops remain on hook) into the base of 5ch, insert hook into the 3rd of 5ch on beginning of row and pull loop through the 2 loops left on hook. Turn.


Rpt Rows 1 & 2 until work measures 14 inches from shoulder or ten tr2tog rows have been worked. Fasten off.


Next Row - Join in colour 2, make 1ch, work 3dc into base of 1ch, miss 2ch, * 1dc into each of next two tr2tog, miss 2ch, 3dc into next tr2tog, miss 2ch, * rpt from * to * to last two tr2tog and 2ch, 1dc into each of next two tr2tog, miss 2ch, ss to first dc. Fasten off.


Sleeves x 2 - With colour 1 make 28ch, ss to first ch to make a ring, work 3ch, (RS) 1tr into each ch to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. (27tr + 3ch)


Next Row - 3ch, 1tr into each tr to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn.


Shape Top - 1ch, ss into base of 1ch, ss over first 3tr, make 3ch, 1tr into each of next 21tr, turn leaving 3tr un-worked. (21tr + 3ch)


Next Row - Make 3ch, tr2tog over next 2tr, 1tr into each tr to last 2tr and 3ch, tr2tog over next 2tr, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (19tr + 3ch)


Rpt last row three more times.


Starting with 3ch, work 1tr into each tr to end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Fasten off. (13tr + 3ch)


Cuff - With WS facing rejoin colour 1 to cast on edge, 1ch, 1dc into each ch, to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (28dc)


Next Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off. Turn.


Join in colour 2 and rpt last row once. Fasten off.


Collar With colour 1 make 49ch, 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into each ch to end (46tr + 3ch). Turn.


Next Row - (Inc) 3ch, 1tr into next tr, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of next 3tr, * rpt from * to * to end, 1tr into top of 3ch, (57tr +3ch). Turn.


Next Row - 3ch, miss 2tr * tr2tog, 2ch (twice), tr2tog all into next tr, miss 3tr, * rpt from * to * to last tr and 3ch, miss last tr, 1tr into top of 3ch. Fasten off. (14 groups)


Next Row - Join in colour 2, make 1ch, work 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into next tr2tog, * miss 2ch, 3dc into next tr2tog, miss 2ch, 1dc into each of next two tr2tog, * rpt from * to * to last 2ch, tr2tog, 2ch, tr2tog and 3ch to turn, miss 2ch, work 3dc into next tr2tog, miss 2ch, 1dc into last tr2tog, 1dc into top of 3ch. Fasten off.


Front Edge Border - With RS and front of dress facing, join yarn to base of front opening on right hand side, work 12dc evenly along into row ends up first side of front opening to neck edge. Fasten off. Turn.


Button Loop Row - Join in colour 2, 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, make 3ch, (button loop) 1dc into same dc, 1dc into each dc to end. Fasten off.


Rejoin colour 1 to second side and working from neck downwards, work 12dc evenly along front edge to end. Fasten off.


Join in colour 2 and starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each dc to end. Fasten off.


Belt - Using colour 2 make 131ch, 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each ch to end. Fasten off. (130dc)


Rose - Make magic circle, work 3ch, * 1ps, (see abbrev) 1ch, * rpt from * to * 7 more times, pull loose yarn to close circle, ss to first ps on beginning of row. Turn. (8ps)


Round 2 - 1ch, * 1dc into next 1ch space, 2dc into next ps, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to first dc. Fasten off. (24dc)


Weave in and trim off loose ends of yarn.


Finishing - With WS facing over sew with needle and yarn the sleeves into the armholes on dress. Starting on right hand side at opening on neck edge, sew collar into position around neck edge.


Weave in any loose ends of yarn and trim off.  Sew on button to correspond with button loop, thread belt between tr’s on bottom of bodice. Attach rose on the front of the skirt.
