Dress Bodice Front - With 5.00mm hook and contrast color yarn, ch37 loosely, change to 4.00mm hook, 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in next 14ch, ch1, skip 1ch, 1dc in next ch, ch1, skip 1ch, 1dc in next 16ch. Turn. (32dc & 2, ch1 spaces + ch3)


Next Row - ch3, 1dc in each of next 15dc, ch1, skip ch1, 1dc in next dc, ch1, skip ch1, 1dc in next 15dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn.


Next Row - (shape armholes). ch1, sl st across first 3dc, ch3, 1dc in each of next 13dc, ch1, skip ch1, 1dc in next dc, ch1, skip ch1, 1dc in each of next 14dc, turn leaving last dc and ch3 un-worked. (28dc & 2, ch1 spaces + ch3)


Next Row - ch3, dc2tog over next 2dc, 1dc in each of next 11dc, ch1, skip ch1 1dc in next dc, ch1, skip ch1, 1dc in next 11dc, dc2tog over next 2dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn.


Next Row - ch3, 1dc in each of next 12dc, ch1, skip ch1 1dc in next dc, ch1, skip ch1, 1dc in next 12dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. Rpt last row once.


Next Row - (shape neck) ch3, 1dc in each of next 9dc. Turn.


Next Row - ch3, dc2tog over next 2dc, 1dc in each of next 6dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (8dc + ch3) Starting with ch3, work 1dc in each of next 5dc, dc2tog over next 2dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Fasten off. (7dc + ch3)


Second Side of Neck - Skip centre (3dc, ch1 space, 1dc, ch1 space and 3dc), rejoin yarn to next dc, ch3, 1dc in each of next 8dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (9dc + ch3)


Next Row - ch3, 1dc in each of next 6dc, dc2tog over next 2dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (8dc + ch3) Starting with ch3, dc2tog over next 2dc, 1dc in each dc to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Fasten off. (7dc + ch3)


Bodice Back - With 5.00mm hook ch37 loosely, change to 4.00mm hook, 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in each ch to end. Turn. (34dc + ch3)


Back Split & Shape Armholes


First Side - ch3, 1dc in each of next 16dc, turn leaving 17dc and ch3 un-worked. (16dc + ch3)


Next Row - ch3, 1dc in each of next 14dc, turn leaving last dc and ch3 un-worked. (14dc + ch3)


Next Row - ch3, dc2tog over next 2dc, 1dc in each dc to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (13dc + ch3)


Next Row - ch3, 1dc in each dc to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. Rpt last row 4 more times until 9 rows have been worked in all from beginning. Fasten off.


Second Side - Return to un-worked 17dc at opening, skip first dc, rejoin yarn to next dc, ch3, 1dc in each dc to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (16dc + ch3)


Next Row - ch1, sl st over first 3dc, ch3, 1dc in each dc to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (14dc + ch3)


Next Row - ch3, 1dc in each of next 11dc, dc2tog over next 2dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (13dc + ch3)


Next Row - ch3, 1dc in each dc to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. Rpt last row 4 more times until 9 rows have been worked in all from beginning. Fasten off.


With WS facing over sew or sl st with 5.00mm hook side and shoulder seams together, turn through to right side.


Commence skirt - With main color yarn, 5.00mm hook, RS facing and front of bodice to the front, rejoin yarn under left armhole, working on opposite side of cast on edge, work ch3, skip ch1, * (3dc, ch1, 3dc) in next ch, skip ch1, 1dc in each of next ch2, skip ch1, * rpt from * to * around back and front of bodice until last 4ch, skip 1ch, (3dc, ch1, 3dc) in next ch, skip 1ch, 1dc in last ch, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn. (14dc groups)


Pattern Row 1 - ch3, 1dc in first dc, * skip 3dc, work (3dc, ch1, 3dc) in ch1 space on group, skip 3dc, 1dc in each of next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last group, work (3dc, ch1, 3dc) in ch1 space on last group, skip 3dc, sl st to top of ch3. Turn.


Pattern Row 2 - ch3, * skip 3dc, (3dc, ch1, 3dc) in ch1 space on group, skip 3dc, 1dc in each of next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last group and 1dc, work (3dc, ch1, 3dc) in ch1 space of group, 1dc in last dc, sl st to top of ch3. Turn.


Rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 twice, followed by Pattern Row 1 once, skirt measures approx 4.5 inches and 8 skirt rows have been worked in all. Turn.


Next Row - (Inc Row) ch3, 1dc in next dc, * skip 2dc, (3dc, ch1, 3dc) in ch1 space on group, skip 2dc, 1dc in next 4dc, * rpt from * to * to last group and dc, work (3dc, ch1, 3dc) in ch1 space on group, skip 2dc, 1dc in each of last 2dc, sl st to top of ch3. Turn.


Next Row - ch3, 1dc in each of first 2dc, * skip 3dc, (3dc, ch1, 3dc) in ch1 space on group, skip 3dc, 1dc in next 4dc, * rpt from * to * to last group and dc, (3dc, ch1, 3dc) in ch1 space on group, skip 3dc, 1dc in last dc, sl st to top of ch3. Turn.


Next Row - ch3, 1dc in first dc, * skip 3dc, (3dc, ch1, 3dc) in ch1 space on group, skip 3dc, 1dc in next 4dc, * rpt from * to * to last group and 2dc, work (3dc, ch1, 3dc) in ch1 space on group, skip 3dc, 1dc in each of last 2dc, sl st to top of ch3. Turn. Fasten off.


Join in contrast color yarn, work last 2 rows once more. Fasten off. You will have worked 13 rows in all, work measures approx 11 inches from shoulder. Fasten off.


With main color yarn, work ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * 1sc in each dc to next ch1 space on group, 2sc in ch1 space, * rpt from * to * end, sl st to first sc. Fasten off.


Sleeves x 2 - With 5.00mm hook and contrast color yarn ch28, sl st to first ch to make a round, change to 4.00mm hook, ch3, 1dc in each ch to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn. (27dc + ch3)


Starting with ch3, work 1dc in each dc to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn.


Shape Top - ch1, sl st in base of ch1, sl st over first 3dc, ch3, 1dc in each of next 21dc, turn leaving 3dc un-worked. (21dc + ch3)


Next Row - ch1, sl st over first 2dc, ch3, dc2tog over next 2dc, 1dc in each of next 14dc, dc2tog over next to dc, 1dc in next dc, turn leaving ch3 to turn with un-worked. (17dc + ch3)


Next Row - ch3, dc2tog over next 2dc, 1dc in each of next 12dc, dc2tog over next 2dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (15dc + ch3).


Starting with ch3, work 1dc in each dc to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn.


Next Row - ch3, dc2tog over next 2dc, 1dc in each of next 10dc, dc2tog over next 2dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Fasten off. (13dc + ch3)


Cuff - With RS facing, main color yarn and 4.00mm hook, rejoin yarn to cast on edge, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, skip ch1 * 1sc in next 5ch, skip 1ch, * rpt from * to * to last ch3, skip 1ch, 1sc in each of last 2ch, sl st to first sc. Turn. (23sc)


Starting with ch1, work 2 more rows of 1sc in each sc on these stitches, sl st to first sc on beginning of each row. Fasten off. With WS facing sl st with 5.00mm hook or over sew with needle and yarn the sleeves in armhole.


Button/Buttonhole Bands - With 4.00mm hook, main color, RS and back of dress facing, join yarn to base of back opening on right hand side, working in row ends, work 16sc evenly up first side of back opening, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each of next 5dc along top of first half of back edge, 8sc evenly down first side of neck edge, 1sc in each of next 9st along centre of front of bodice, 8sc evenly up second side of neck edge, 1sc in each of next 5dc along top of second half of back edge, 3sc in corner, work 16sc evenly along in row ends down second side of back opening. Turn.


Next Row (Buttonhole Row) ch1, 1sc in each sc to corner, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each sc around neck to next corner, 1sc in corner * ch2 skip 1sc, 1sc in next 4sc, * rpt from * to * once more, ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in remaining sc. Fasten off.

(3 Buttonholes made)


Chain Tie - With 4.00mm hook and contrast color yarn ch131, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in each ch to end. Fasten off. Make 2 small pom-poms in contrast color.

I used clover pom-pom maker size 20


Finishing - Sew in ends and tie off. Sew on buttons to correspond with buttonholes, thread chain tie through alternate dc’s on first row of skirt. Attach a pom-pom to each end of tie.


Bonnet - With 5.00mm hook and contrast color, ch41 loosely, change to 4.00mm hook, work 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in each ch to end. Turn. (40sc)


Next Row - ch3, skip 1sc, * (3dc, ch1, 3dc) in next sc, skip 1sc, 1dc in each of next 2sc, * rpt from * to * to last 4sc, skip 1sc, (3dc, ch1, 3dc) in next ch, skip 1sc, 1dc in last sc. Turn. (8 groups)


Pattern Row - ch3, * skip 3dc, work (3dc, ch1, 3dc) in ch1 space on group, skip 3dc, 1dc in next 2dc * rpt from * to * to end, work 1dc in top of ch3. Turn.


Rpt last row until 8 group rows have been worked in all. Fasten off. Re-join main color and rpt last row twice. Fasten off.


With contrast color yarn, work ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * 1sc in each dc to next ch1 space on group, 2sc in ch1 space, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to first sc. Fasten off.


Fold hat in half width ways and with WS facing, using main color yarn and 5.00mm hook, sl st loosely through both sides of cast on chain to close back seam. Fasten off.


Ties - With 4.00mm hook and main color yarn ch60. Fasten off. (will come back too)


Again using main color yarn and 4.00mm hook, ch61, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in each of the next 59ch, work 34sc evenly in row ends along WS of the neck edge on hat, return to 60ch made earlier, sl st in each of the 60ch. Fasten off. (154st)


Finishing - Sew in loose ends on ties and sew in and tie off any loose threads of yarn on hat. Turn through to RS. Make 2 small pom-poms in main color, attach pom-pom to end of ties.
