3 medium buttons, ribbon rosebud
GAUGE - 5dc and 2.5 rows measure approx 1 Inch using 4.50mm hook

Dress - Worked in one piece, starting with yoke.
Using 4.50mm hook and color 1, ch55, 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in each ch to end.
Turn. (52dc + ch3)
2nd Row - (Inc Row) Working through back loop only until Commence Skirt ch3, 1dc
in next dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of the next 3dc, * rpt from * to * to last
2dc and ch3, 2dc in next dc, 1dc in last dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (65dc + ch3)
3rd Row - ch3, 1dc in each dc to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Fasten off. Turn.
4th Row - (Inc Row) Join in color 2 with a sl st to first dc, ch3, 1dc in next dc,
* 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of the next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to end, 1dc in top
of ch3. Fasten off. Turn. (86dc + ch3)
5th Row - Using color 1 rpt 3rd Row. Do not Fasten off.
6th Row - (Inc Row) ch3, 1dc in next dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of the next
2dc, * rpt from * to * to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Fasten off. Turn. (114dc + ch3)
7th Row - Using color 2 rpt 3rd Row. Fasten off. Turn.
8th Row - (Inc Row) Using color 1, rpt same as 6th Row until 1dc and ch3 remain,
2dc in next dc, 1dc in top of ch3. (152dc + ch3)
9th Row - (Divide for armholes) ch3, 1dc in next dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each
of next 2dc, * rpt from * to * 5 more times, 2dc in next dc, skip 34dc, (sleeve)
1dc in each of next 2dc, rpt from * to * 13 more times, 2dc in next dc, 1dc in next
dc, skip 34dc, (sleeve) 1dc in next dc, rpt from * to * 6 more times until 1dc and
ch3 remain, 1dc in dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (111dc + ch3)
Commence with Skirt - Working through both loops of stitch from now on, sl st over
first 2dc, ch3, 1dc in next dc, * (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in next dc, 1dc in each of next
2dc, skip 2dc, 1dc in each of next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last 3dc and ch3 to
turn with, (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in next dc, 1dc in each of next 2dc, skip ch3 to turn
with, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn. (16, groups)
Next row - (Inc Row) sl st over first 2dc, ch3, 1dc in each of next 2dc,
* (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in next ch2 space, 1dc in each of next 3dc, skip 2dc, 1dc in each
of next 3dc, * rpt from * to * to last ch2 space, 3dc and ch3 to turn with, (2dc,

Pattern Row - sl st over first 2dc, ch3, 1dc in each of next 3dc, * (1dc, ch2, 1dc)
in next ch2 space, 1dc in each of next 4dc, skip 2dc, 1dc in each of next 4dc, *
rpt from * to * to last ch2 space, 4dc and ch3 to turn with, (1dc, ch2, 1dc) in ch2
space, 1dc in each of next 4dc, skip ch3 to turn with, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning
of row. Turn.
Rpt the last row until 21 rows in all have been worked from yoke. Fasten off. Turn.
Join in color 2 to first dc with a sl st and rpt Pattern Row once. Fasten off. Turn.
Join in color 1 to first dc with a sl st and work Pattern Row once. Fasten off. If
you wish to make the skirt longer you can adjust length here by adding more rows.
Sleeves x 2 - Working in back loop of stitch, with RS facing and 4.50mm hook, rejoin
color 1 to same dc under arm were you divided for armhole, ch3, 1dc in each of next
2dc, * (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in next dc, 1dc in each of next 2dc, skip 2dc, 1dc in each
of next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last 4dc and side of dc underarm, (2dc, ch2, 2dc)
in next dc, 1dc in each of next 2dc, skip last dc and side of dc underarm, sl st
to top of ch3 at beginning of round. Turn. (5 groups)
Buttonhole/button Bands - With 4.50mm hook, color 1, RS facing and starting at lower
back edge on right hand side of opening. Work 18sc evenly along to corner, 3sc in
corner, 1sc in each ch around neck edge to next corner, 3sc in corner, 18sc evenly
down back edge to end. Turn.
Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc up back edge to corner. Turn.
Rpt last row once. Fasten off.
Buttonhole Row - Return to first back edge, with WS facing and working from neck
downwards ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in next 6sc, * rpt from *
to * once, ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in each of remaining sc. Turn.
Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1sc in each sc and ch2 space to end.
Fasten off.
Finishing - Close small gap underarms, weave in any loose ends of yarn and trim,
attach buttons to correspond with buttonholes, decorate with ribbon rosebud.
Bonnet - (Working in back loop of stitch throughout) Using color 1 make a magic circle,
with 4.00mm hook ch3, work 13dc in ring, pull loose thread to close circle, sl st
to top of dc on beginning of row. (13dc + ch3)
Round 2 - ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, 2dc in each dc to end, sl st to top of ch3 on
beginning of row. Turn. (27dc + ch3).
Round 3 - ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, * 1dc in next dc, 2dc in next dc, * rpt from *
to * to last dc, 1dc in last dc, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn. (41dc
+ ch3)
Round 4 - ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, * 1dc in each of next 2dc, 2dc in next dc, * rpt
from * to * to last 2dc, 1dc in each of last 2dc, sl st to top of ch3. Turn. (55dc
+ ch3).
Round 5 - ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, * 1dc in each of next 3dc, 2dc in next dc, * rpt
from * to * to last 3dc, 1dc in each of last 3dc, sl st to top of ch3. Turn. (69dc
+ ch3)
Rounds 6 - 14 - ch3, 1dc in each dc to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row.
Turn.
Brim - ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, * 1dc in each of next 4dc, 2dc in next dc, * rpt
from * to * to last 4dc, 1dc in each of last 4dc, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning
of row. Fasten off. Turn. (83dc + ch3)
Next Row - Join in color 2, ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, * 1dc in each of next 5dc, 2dc
in next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 5dc, 1dc in each of last 5dc, sl st to top
of ch3 on beginning of row. Fasten off. Turn. (97dc + ch3)
Next Row - Join in color 1, ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, * 1dc in each of next 6dc, 2dc
in next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 6dc, 1dc in each of last 6dc, sl st to top
of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn. (111dc + ch3)
Finishing - Weave in any loose ends of yarn, fold back front of brim and tack in
place, decorate with ribbon rosebud.
