3.50mm, 4.00mm & 4.50mm crochet hooks
3 small buttons, 1mtr of ribbon (approx)
GAUGE - 5dc and 2.5 rows measures approx 1 Inch using 4.00mm hook

Dress - With 4.00mm hook and color 1, ch58, (RS) 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in
the next 6ch, (back) 3dc in next ch, 1dc in next 9ch, (shoulder) 3dc in next ch,
1dc in the next 18ch, (front) 3dc in next ch, 1dc in the next 9ch, (shoulder) 3dc
in next ch, 1dc in the next 8ch. (back) Turn. (63dc + ch3)
Rows 2 - (Inc Row) ch3, * 1dc in each dc to 3dc group, 1dc in next dc, 3dc in centre
dc on 3dc group, * rpt from * to * to last 3dc group, 1dc in next dc, 3dc in centre
dc on 3dc group, 1dc in each dc to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Fasten off. (71dc + ch3)
Rows 3 to 5 - Join in color 2 and rpt Row 2. Fasten off. (95dc + ch3)
Rows 6 to 8 Join in color 1 and rpt Row 2.
You should have 119dc + ch3 at the end of Row 8. Turn.
Row 9 - (Divide for armholes & Inc) - ch2, 1hdc in base of ch2, 1hdc in next dc,
* 2hdc in next dc, 1hdc in each of next 2dc, * rpt from * to * four more times, skip
25dc for sleeve, rpt from * to * twelve more times, skip 25dc for sleeve, rpt from
* to * to last dc and ch3, 1hdc in next dc, 1hdc in top of ch3. Fasten off. Turn.

Row 10 - Join in color 2, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each hdc to end. Turn.

Row 11 - ch2, 1hdc in base of ch2, 1hdc in each sc to end. Turn.
Row 12 - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each hdc to end, sl st to first sc to make
a round. Fasten off. Turn.
Commence Skirt - (Made in rounds without turning throughout) Join in color 1 to first
sc, ch3, 4dc in base of ch3, * skip 1sc, 5dc in next sc, * rpt from * to * to last
sc, skip sc, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. (46, 5dc groups)
Pattern Row - sl st in first 2dc, ch3, 4dc in base of ch3, * skip 4dc, 5dc in next
dc, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row.
Rpt Pattern Row until 13 group rows have been worked. Fasten off.
Join in color 2 and rpt Pattern Row twice. Fasten off.
Join in color 1 and rpt Pattern Row twice. Fasten off.
You should have 16 group rows worked in all or work measures approx 13 Inches from
shoulder.
Sleeves x 2 - Join in color 2 to centre dc of 3dc group under arm (where you divided),
ch3, 1dc in each of next 25dc, 1dc in centre dc of 3dc group on opposite side of
sleeve, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. (26dc + ch3)
Next Row - ch3, 1dc in each dc to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Fasten
off.
Button/Buttonhole Bands
Working on RS join in color 1 to base of right hand side of back edge, ch1, work
1sc in base of ch1, 19sc evenly in row ends to corner, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each
ch around neck edge to next corner, 3sc in corner, 20sc evenly in row ends down back
edge to end. Turn.
Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to corner. Turn.
Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1sc in each sc to end. Fasten off.
Buttonhole Row - Return to corner on opposite back edge, with WS facing, starting
from corner and working from neck downwards, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * ch2, skip
1sc, 1sc in next 7sc, * rpt from * to * once, ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in remaining sc.
Turn. (3 buttonholes made)
Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc and ch2 space to end. Fasten off.
Finishing - Close small gaps underarms, weave in and trim off any loose threads of
yarn, sew on buttons to correspond with buttonholes, make ribbon bow to front of
dress.
Knickers - Using 4.50mm hook and color 1, ch10. Fasten off. (leave to one side as
we will come back to later).
Using 4.50mm hook ch45, change to 4.00mm hook, work 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc
in each ch to end. Turn. (42dc + ch3)
Next Row - ch3, 1dc in each dc to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn.
Rpt last row until 9 rows have been worked. Fasten off. Turn.
Shape legs - Skip 10dc, join yarn to next dc, ch3, dec 1dc (see abbrev) over next
2dc, 1dc in each of next 17dc, dec 1dc over next 2dc, 1dc in next dc, turn leaving
9dc + ch3 un-worked. (20dc + ch3)
Decrease Row - ch3, dec 1dc over next 2dc, 1dc in each dc to last 2dc and ch3, dec
1dc over next 2dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (18dc + ch3)
Rpt Decrease Row until 10dc + ch3 remain. Turn.
Crotch - ch1, 1sc in base of ch, 1sc in each dc to end, 1sc in top of ch3. Turn.
(11sc)
Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 3 more rows of 1sc in each sc to end,
turning at the end of each row.
Increase Row - ch3, 2dc in next sc, 1dc in each sc to last 2sc, 2dc in next sc, 1dc
in last sc. Turn.
Rpt Increase Row working in dc's not sc until you have 22dc + ch3. Turn.
Next Row - ch12, 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in each of next 8ch, 1dc in each of
next 22dc, 1dc in top of ch3, return to 10ch made earlier and work 1dc in each of
the 10ch. Turn. (42dc +ch3)
Next Row - ch3, 1dc in each dc to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn.
Rpt last row until 9 rows have been worked. Fasten off.
Over sew with needle and yarn or sl st side seams together.
With color 1 and WS facing join yarn with a sl st at side of waist, ch1, 1sc in each
dc around back and front of knickers, sl st to first sc on beginning of row.
Starting with ch1, work 1sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of
row. Fasten off.
Leg Edging - With WS facing and color 2, join yarn to centre of crotch with a sl
st, work 47sc evenly around leg, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.
Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1 more row in sc, sl st to first sc on
beginning of row. Fasten off.
Rpt Leg Edging on second leg.
Finishing - Sew in and tie off any loose ends of yarn, thread ribbon through waist
and tie in a bow.
Bonnet (Worked in continuous rounds without turning until round 5) -
With 4.00mm hook, ch8, join with sl st to form a ring, ch3, (RS) 15dc in ring, sl
st to top of ch3 on beginning of row.
Round 2 - ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, 2dc in each dc to end, sl st to top of ch3 on
beginning of row. (31dc + ch3)
Round 3 - ch3, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in next dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc, 2dc
in dc, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. (47dc + ch3)
Round 4 - ch3, 1dc in each of first 2dc * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of the next
3dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc, 2dc in dc, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of
row. (59dc + ch3)
Round 5 - Working in back loop only, ch3, 1dc in each of next 6dc, * 2dc in next
dc, 1dc in next 7dc, * rpt from * to * to last 5dc, turn leaving last 5dc un-worked.
(60dc + ch3)
Next Round - Working through both loops to brim, ch3, 1dc in each dc to end. Turn.
Rpt last row until 13dc rows have been worked from beginning. Turn.
Brim - Change to 3.50mm hook, working through back loop of stitch only ch3, skip
1dc, * 5dc in next dc, skip 3dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc and ch3 to turn with,
skip dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (15, 5dc groups)
2nd Row - ch3, skip 2dc, 5dc in next dc, * skip 4dc, 5dc in next dc, * rpt from *
to * to last 2dc and ch3, skip 2dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Fasten off.
Rpt 2nd Row in color 2 once, followed by once in color 1. Fasten off.
Turn back brim onto RS of bonnet. With 4.00mm hook, WS facing work one row of sc
in dc's on base of brim (Row 13 on the front of bonnet).
Back Frill - With 4.00mm hook, join color 1 to loose loops at top of Round 4, ch3,
4dc in base of ch3, * skip 2 loops, 5dc in next loop, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc,
skip 2dc, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. (20, 5dc groups)
With 4.00mm hook and RS facing starting from front edge ch3, work one row of dc stitch
evenly along neck edge catching in brim on both sides as you go. Fasten off.
Finishing - Sew in and tie off loose ends of yarn, thread ribbon through alternate
dc’s along neck edge and tie in a bow.
