DUNGAREES - Using 4.00mm Hook and main colour make 85ch, ss to first ch

to form a ring, make 3ch, (RS) * miss 1ch, 1 shell (see abbrev) into next ch, miss 1ch 1tr into each of next 2ch * rpt from * to * to last 4ch, miss 1ch, 1 shell into

next ch, miss 1ch, 1tr into last ch, ss to top of 4ch on beginning of row. Turn.

(17 shells)


Next Row - 4ch, dtrb into next single tr, * 1 shell into 1ch space of next shell,

1dtrb into each of next 2 single tr, * rpt from * to * to last shell, work 1 shell into 1ch space of shell, ss to top of 4ch on beginning of row. Turn.


Pattern Row 1 - 4ch, * Work shell into 1ch space of next shell, 1dtrf on next 2 single dtr, * rpt from * to * to last shell and dtr, work shell into 1ch space of shell, 1dtrf on dtr, ss to top of 4ch on beginning of row. Turn.


Pattern Row 2 - 4ch, dtrb on next single dtr, * 1 shell into 1ch space of next shell, 1dtrb on each of next 2 single dtr, * rpt from * to * to last shell, work shell into 1ch space of shell, ss to top of 4ch on beginning of row. Turn.


Pattern Rows 1 & 2 form the pattern, rpt both rows until work measures approx

Divide for legs


First Leg - Work Pattern Row 1 over next 8 shell, 1dtrf on each of next 2 single dtr, 1tr into 1ch space of next shell, ss to top of 4ch on beginning of row. Turn.


Starting with 4ch, miss 1tr and 1dtr, 1dtrb on next dtr, continue with Pattern Row 2 to end, ss to top of 4ch. Turn. (8 shells) Work pattern rows as set until leg seam measures approx 6 Inches or 12 rows have been worked from division. Fasten off. (again you can add more rows here if you wish)


Contrast Edge - Join in contrast colour yarn, make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch,

* 1dc into each of next 2tr, (1dc, 1ch, 1dc) into 1ch space of shell, 1dc into each of next 2tr, 1dc into each of next 2dtr, * rpt from * to * to last shell and dtr, work

1dc into each of next 2tr, (1dc, 1ch, 1dc) into 1ch space of shell, 1dc into each

of next 2tr, 1dc into dtr, ss to first dc. Fasten off.


Second Leg - With RS facing return and rejoin main colour yarn to shell at centre, make 4ch, 1dtrf on each of next 2 single dtr, continue by working Pattern Row 1 over next 8 shells, 1dtr on last dtr, ss to top of 4ch on beginning of row. Turn.


Next Row - Work Pattern Row 2 to last shell and 2 single dtr, work shell into 1ch space of shell, 1trb on next dtr, miss 1dtr, ss to top of 4ch on beginning of row. Turn.


Next Row - Make 4ch, miss first dtr, continue with Pattern Rows 1 & 2 the same as the first leg until 14 rows have been worked from division. Fasten off.


Rpt Contrast Edge same as first leg. Fasten off


Waist Band - With 4.00mm hook and RS facing, re-join main colour yarn to back seam, working along cast on edge, work 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each ch to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (85dc)


Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off. Turn.


Bib - With 4.00mm hook and RS facing counting from back seam, miss 30dc at waist, rejoin main colour yarn to next dc, 1ch, 1dc into same stitch, 1dc into next 24dc. Turn leaving remaining 30dc un-worked. (25dc).


Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 17 more rows in dc. Fasten off. (18 rows worked in all)


With RS facing, 4.00mm hook and contrast colour yarn, starting at back seam, work 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each of next 29dc, work 1dc into each row end up first side of bib to corner, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each dc to last dc, 3dc into last dc, 1dc into each row down second side of bib, 1dc into each of

next 30dc, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off.


Straps x 2 - With 4.00mm hook and main colour make 5ch, 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each of next 3ch. Turn. Work 41 more rows in dc, making 42 rows in all. Turn.


Next Row - (Buttonhole Row) 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, make 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into each of last 2dc. Turn.


Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each dc and 2ch space. Turn. Work 1 more row in dc. Fasten off.


Finishing - With WS facing sew in and tie off any loose ends of yarn. Turn dungarees through to RS.


Attach each strap end to the inside of the waistband, approx 2nd shell in on either side of back seam on pants, sew buttons to corners on bib and fasten through buttonholes on straps.
