Jacket - Worked in one piece starting with yoke.


Using color 1, ch55, (RS) 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in each ch to end. Turn. (52dc + ch3)


Row 2 - (Inc Row) ch3, 1dc in each of next 3dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of the next 4dc, * rpt from * to * to last 3dc and ch3, 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of last 2dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Fasten off. Turn. (62dc + ch3)


Join in color 2.


Row 3 - ch3, 1dc in each dc to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn.


Fasten off. Join in color 1.


Row 4 - (Inc Row) ch3, 1dc in each of next 2dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of the next 3dc, * rpt from * to * to last 3dc and ch3, 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of last 2dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (77dc + ch3)


Row 5 - as Row 3.

Sleeves x 2 - With RS facing join color 1 to same sc under arm were you divided for armholes, ch4, * (1sc, ch2, 1sc) in centre ps of 3, ch1, 1dc in next sc, ch1, * rpt from * to * to last 3ps group and sc, (1sc, ch2, 1sc) in centre ps of 3, ch1, skip 1sc, sl st to 3rd of ch4 on beginning of row. Turn. (you will have a hole under arm and will close it in the finishing)


Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, ch1, * 3ps in next ch2 space, 1sc in next dc, ch1, * rpt from * to * to last ch2 space, 3ps in next ch2 space, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn. (7, 3ps groups)


Next Row - ch4, * (1sc, ch2, 1sc) in centre ps of 3, ch1, 1dc in next sc, ch1, * rpt from * to * to last 3ps group, (1sc, ch2, 1sc) in centre ps of 3, ch1, sl st to 3rd of ch4 on beginning of row. Turn.


Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, ch1, * 3ps in next ch2 space, 1sc in next dc, ch1, * rpt from * to * to last ch2 space, 3ps in next ch2 space, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.


Rpt last 2 rows until 7 ps rows have been worked from yoke or under seam measures approx 4 inches. Fasten off.


Work last 2 rows once in color 2 and once in color 1. Fasten off.


Button/Buttonhole Bands


Button Band - With RS facing join color 1 to left front at neck edge, ch1, work 45sc evenly along in row ends to corner. Turn.


Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1 and turning at the end of each row, work 2 more rows in sc on these stitches. Fasten off.


Buttonhole Band - With RS facing join color 1 to lower front edge on right hand side, ch1, work 45sc evenly in row ends to neck edge. Turn.


Next Row - (Buttonholes) ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in each of next 7sc, * rpt from * to * once, ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in each sc to corner. Turn.


Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1sc in each sc and ch2 space to end. Fasten off.


Hood - ch58 loosely, 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in each ch to end. Turn. (57sc)


Second Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, ch1, * skip 1sc, 3ps in next sc, skip 1sc, 1sc in next sc, ch1, * rpt from * to * to last 4sc, skip 1sc, 3ps in next sc, skip 1sc, 1sc in last sc. Turn. (14, 3ps groups)


Third Row - ch4, * (1sc, ch2, 1sc) in centre ps of 3, ch1, 1dc in next sc, ch1, * rpt from * to * to last 3ps group and sc, (1sc, ch2, 1sc) in centre ps of 3, ch1, 1dc in last sc. Turn.


Fourth Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, ch1, * 3ps in next ch2 space, 1sc in next dc, ch1, * rpt from * to * to last ch2 space and ch4, 3ps in ch2 space, 1sc in 3rd of ch4. Turn.


Rpt Third and Fourth row until 6 ps rows have been worked or work measures approx 4.5 inches. Fasten off.


Work Third and Fourth row once in color 2 and once in color 1. Fasten off.


Finishing - Fold hood in half length ways and sl st cast on edge together loosely. Fasten off.


With WS facing and skipping button/buttonhole bands, attach the hood to neck edge on jacket by over sewing with needle and yarn, easing any fullness as you go.


Close gap underarms, weave in all loose ends of yarn, sew on buttons to correspond with buttonholes.
