4.00mm crochet hook
6 small buttons, 2 decorative buttons for pockets
TENSION - 5tr and 2.5 rows of tr's measures approx 1 Inch

Jacket (Worked in one piece starting from yoke) - Using colour 1 make 57ch, (RS)
1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into the next 6ch, (front) 3tr into next ch, 1tr into
next 8ch, (shoulder) 3tr into next ch, 1tr into the next 19ch, (back) 3tr into next
ch, 1tr into the next 8ch, (shoulder) 3tr into next ch, 1tr into the next 8ch. (front)
Turn. (62tr + 3ch)
Row 2 to 10 - Working through back loop of stitch only make 3ch, * 1tr into each
tr to 3tr group, 1tr into next tr, 3tr into centre tr on 3tr group, * rpt from *
to * to last 3tr group, 1tr into next tr, 3tr into centre tr on 3tr group, 1tr into
each tr to end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Fasten off.
You should have 134tr + 3ch at the end of Row 10.
Row 11 - (Divide for Armholes) Join in colour 2 and working through back loop of
stitch make 3ch, 1tr into each tr to centre tr of 3tr group, 1tr into centre tr,
miss 28tr, 1tr into each tr to centre tr of next 3tr group, 1tr into centre tr, miss
28tr, 1tr into each tr to end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (78tr + 3ch)
Row 12 - Working through both loops of stitch from now on make 3ch, 1tr into each
tr to end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn.
Rpt Row 12 until 14 rows have been worked from yoke. Fasten off.
Sleeves x 2 - Join in colour 2 to side of tr under arm with a ss, make 3ch, working
through back loop of stitch only work 1tr into each of next 28tr, 1tr in side of
tr under arm on opposite side of sleeve, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn.
(29tr + 3ch)
Next Row - Working through both loops of stitch from now on make 3ch, 1tr into each
tr to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn.
Rpt last row until 11 rows have been worked in all from yoke. Fasten off. Turn.
Join in colour 1 with a ss to top of 3ch.
Cuff - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr to end, ss to first dc on beginning
of row. Turn.
Rpt last row twice. Fasten off.
Hood - With WS facing join in colour 1 to neck edge with a ss, 3ch, 1tr into each
ch along cast on edge. Turn. (54tr + 3ch)
Next Row - Working through back loop of stitch only make 3ch, 1tr into each tr to
end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn.
Rpt last row until 16 rows have been worked for hood. With WS facing fold hood in
half and loosely ss edge together to close, work through both loops of tr closest
to you and back loop of tr behind

Button/Buttonhole Bands - With RS facing join colour 1 to lower edge on right hand
front edge, 1ch, 2dc into base of 1ch, work 2dc into each row end up first front
edge, 2dc into each row end on hood, 2dc into each row end down second front edge,
3dc into corner, 1dc into each tr along bottom of jacket, 1dc into base of 1ch, ss
to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.
2nd Row - 1ch, 2dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc along bottom of jacket to corner,
3dc into corner, 1dc in each dc up first front edge, around hood and down second
front edge, 1dc into base of 1ch, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.
Button Band - (Written for a boy, change sides for a girl)
3rd Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each of next 51dc. Turn. (52dc)
Rpt last row 5 more times. Fasten off.
Buttonhole Band
3rd Row - (Buttonholes) Rejoin colour 1 to neck edge, (where you started the hood)
1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into each of next 8dc, * rpt from
* to * once, 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into each of next 32dc. Turn.
4th Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc and 2ch space to end. Turn.
(52dc)
5th Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into dc to end. Turn.
6th Row - (Buttonholes) 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each of next 32dc, *
2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into each of next 8dc, * rpt from * to * once, 2ch, miss 1dc,
1dc into last dc. Turn.
Rpt 4th & 5th Rows once. Fasten off.
Pocket x 2 - With colour 1 make 10ch, 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each ch
to end. Turn. (9dc)
Next Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end. Turn. Rpt last row
6 more times. Turn.
Pocket Edge - Make 1ch, 2dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to last dc, 3dc into
last dc, 1dc into each row end down first side of pocket to corner, 3dc into corner,
1dc into each ch along cast on edge to corner, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each row
end up second side of pocket, 1dc into base of 1ch, ss to first dc. Fasten off.
Finishing - Close small gaps under arms, weave in any loose ends of yarn, sew on
buttons to correspond with buttonholes, sew decorative button to the centre of each
pocket, attach a pocket to each front.
