GAUGE - 1 pattern rpt and 2.5 rows measures approx 1 Inch using 4.00mm hook

Hat - With 4.50mm hook and color 1 ch58, change to 4.00mm hook, work 2dc in 4th ch from hook, * skip 2ch, 1sc in next ch, skip 2ch, 3dc in next ch, (ch1, 1sc, 1hdc, 1dc) around the post of the last dc made, * rpt from * to * to last 6ch, skip 2ch, 1sc in next ch, skip 2ch, 3dc in last ch. Turn.

Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, skip 2dc, * 3dc in next sc, (ch1, 1sc, 1hdc, 1dc) around the post of the last dc made, skip 3st, 1sc in ch1 space, * rpt from * to * to end, working last sc in top of ch3. Turn.

Pattern Row 1 - ch3, 2dc in base of ch3, * skip 3st, 1sc in ch1 space, skip 2dc, 3dc in next sc, (ch1, 1sc, 1hdc, 1dc) around the post of the last dc made, * rpt from * to * to last group and sc, skip 3st, 1sc in ch1 space, 3dc in last sc. Turn.

Pattern Row 2 - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, skip 3dc, * 3dc in next sc, (ch1, 1sc, 1hdc, 1dc) around the post of the last dc made, skip 3st, 1sc in ch1 space, skip 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last sc, 2dc and ch3, work 3dc in next sc, (ch1, 1sc, 1hdc, 1dc) around the post of the last dc made, skip 2dc, 1sc in top of ch3. Turn.

Fasten off.

Rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 twice in color 2, twice in color 1, twice in color 2. Fasten off.

Fold hat in half width ways, WS facing, color 1 and using 4.50mm hook, sl st loosely through both sides of cast on ch's to close back seam. Fasten off.

Neck Edge Including Chain Ties - Using color 1 ch60 for first tie then working on WS, work 38sc evenly in row ends along neck edge to end, ch61 for second tie, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in each of next 59ch's, work 1sc in each sc along neck, sl st in each of next 60ch's. Fasten off.

Finishing - Weave in and trim all loose ends of yarn.
