GAUGE - 2 groups and 6 rows measures approx 2 Inches using 4.00mm hook

Coat - (Back)

With 5.00mm hook ch32, change to 4.00mm hook, # (1dc, ch1, 1dc, ch1, 1dc) in 4th ch from hook * skip 1ch, 1sc in next ch, skip 1ch, (1dc, ch1, 1dc, ch1, 1dc) in next ch, * rpt from * to * to last 4ch's, skip 1ch, 1sc in next ch, skip 1ch, 1dc in last ch. Turn. (7 groups)


Pattern Row - ch3, * (1dc, ch1, 1dc, ch1, 1dc) in next sc, 1sc in centre dc of group * rpt from * to * to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. #


Rpt Pattern Row until 19 rows have been worked in all or work measures approx 6.5 inches from beginning. Fasten off.


First Front - With 5.00mm hook ch16, change to 4.00mm hook, work from # to # from back. Turn. (3 groups)


Work Pattern Row until 16 rows have been worked in all or work measures 5.5 inches from beginning. Turn.


Shape neck - Work Pattern Row to last sc, group and ch3 to turn, 1dc in last sc, turn leaving remaining stitches unworked.


Next row - sl st to centre dc of next group, ch3 work Pattern Row to end. Turn.


Work Pattern Row once. Fasten off.


Second front - Work same as first front until 16 rows have been worked. Turn.


Next Row - Skip 6st, re-join yarn to next dc, work Pattern Row to end.

Turn.


Next Row - Work Pattern Row to last sc, group and ch3 to turn, 1dc in last sc, turn leaving remaining stitches un-worked.


Work Pattern Row once. Fasten off.


Sleeves x 2 -

With 5.00mm hook, ch25, change to 4.00mm hook, 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in each ch to end. Turn. (22dc + ch3)


Starting with ch3, continue in dc stitch increasing 1 stitch at each end of every row by working 1dc in base of ch3 on beginning of row and 2dc in top of ch3 at the end of the row until 32dc + ch3 remain and 6 rows in all have been worked from beginning. Fasten off.


Cuff - With 4.00mm hook, WS facing working along opposite side of cast on

edge and turning at the end of each row, re-join yarn to first stitch with a sl st, work ch3, skip ch1, (1dc, ch1, 1dc, ch1, 1dc) in next ch, * skip ch1, 1sc in next ch, skip ch1, (1dc, ch1, 1dc, ch1, 1dc) in next ch, * rpt from * to * to last 4ch, skip ch1, 1sc in next ch, skip ch1, 1dc in last ch. Turn. (5 groups).


Rpt Pattern Row twice more for cuff. Fasten off.


Join shoulder seams, fold sleeves in half lengthways, then placing folds to shoulder seams sl st or over sew with needle and yarn the sleeves in position. Join side and sleeve seams (leaving cuffs un-joined).


Turn through to RS, join cuffs and fold onto RS of sleeves.


Front Edging - Using 4.00mm hook, with RS facing and starting at lower edge, work 31sc up right front, 3sc in corner, 12sc evenly along neck edge, skipping all ch1 spaces work 1sc in each stitch along back, 12sc evenly along neck edge to corner, 3sc in corner, 31sc evenly down left front, 3sc in corner, 1sc in ch along bottom of coat (cast on edge), 1sc in base of ch1 on beginning of row, sl st to

first sc. Turn.


Next Row - (buttonhole) Working 3sc in all corners, work 1sc in each sc along bottom of coat, up left front and round neck to corner, 1sc in corner, * ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in next 6sc, * rpt from * to * to 3 more times, ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in each

of remaining sc, 1sc in base of ch1, sl st to first sc. Turn. (5 buttonholes)

Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work one more row of 1sc in each sc and ch2 space all around coat, working 3sc in all corners. Fasten off.


Finishing - Sew in and tie off loose ends of yarn, attach buttons to correspond with buttonholes.


Bobble Hat - With 5.00mm hook ch52, sl st to first ch to make a round, change

to 4.00mm hook, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, making sure you don't twist the chain length as you go, skip ch1, * work (1dc, ch1, 1dc, ch1, 1dc) in next ch, skip ch1, 1sc in next ch, skip ch1, * rpt from * to * to last ch3, (1dc, ch1, 1dc, ch1, 1dc) in next ch, skip ch1, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn. (13 groups)


Pattern Row 1 - ch3, * 1sc in centre dc of group, (1dc, ch1, 1dc, ch1, 1dc) in

next sc, * rpt from * to * to end, (1dc, ch1) in base of ch3, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn.


Pattern Row 2 - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * (1dc, ch1, 1dc, ch1, 1dc) in next sc, 1sc in centre dc of group, * rpt from * to * to last sc, (1dc, ch1, 1dc, ch1, 1dc) in last sc, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.


Rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 until 14 rows have been worked in all or work measures approx 4.5 inches from beginning. Fasten off.


Using a length of yarn, thread through alternate stitches along cast on edge, pull both sides of yarn to gather and secure. Fasten off.


Make Pom-Pom, I used Clover Pom-Pom maker size 45


Finishing - Sew in and tie off loose ends of yarn, attach pom-pom to gathered crown on hat.
