Pattern Row 2 - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * miss 2ch space, 5tr into next dc, miss
2ch space, 1dc into next tr, * rpt from * to * to 5ch to turn, 1dc into 3rd of
5ch. Turn.
Pattern Rows 1 & 2 form the pattern, rpt rows until eleven 5tr group rows have been
worked in all working 3dc into 3rd of 5ch on last row instead of 1dc, work should
measure approx 10.5 Inches from shoulder. DNT.
Back Edging - With RS facing work 39dc evenly into row ends up first back edge, 3dc
into corner, working along cast on edge work 1dc into each of the starting ch around
neck, 3dc into corner, work 39dc evenly into row ends down second back edge. Turn.
Second Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc up first back edge, around
neck and down second back edge, working 3dc into corners. Fasten off.
Third Row - Join in contrast colour yarn, make 1ch, 2dc into base of 1ch, 1dc
into each dc to neck edge, work (1dc, 1ss) into corner, ss into each dc around neck
edge to next corner, work (1ss, 1dc) into corner, 1dc into each dc down back edge
to next corner, 3dc into corner, working along bottom of dress, work 1dc into row
end of back edging, ss into next dc, * 1dc into each of next 2tr, 3dc into centre
tr of 5tr group, 1dc into each of next 2tr, ss into dc, rpt from * to * end, 1dc
into row end of back edge, 1dc into corner, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten
off.
Sleeves x 2 - With 4.00mm hook and RS facing, rejoin main colour yarn to side of
htr where you divided at base of armhole, 2ch, 1htr into each of next 24dc, 1htr
into side of htr under arm on opposite side of sleeve, ss to top of 2ch on beginning
of row. Turn. (25htr + 2ch)
Next Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each htr to end, ss to first dc on
beginning of row. Turn. (26dc) Fasten off.
Next Row - Join in contrast colour yarn, make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into
each dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off.
Finishing - Close small gaps under arms, weave in any loose ends of yarn, thread
contrast colour ribbon through alternate htr's on last row of yoke and tie in a bow
on the back of the dress, attach decorative buttons on front of yoke.
Hat - Worked in rounds without turning to brim, with 4.00mm hook and main colour
yarn make 4ch, join to first ch with a ss to form a ring, 3ch, (RS) work 12tr into
ring, join with ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (12tr + 3ch)
2nd Row - (Inc Row) 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, 2tr in each of next 12tr, ss to top
of 3ch on beginning of row. (25tr + 3ch)
3rd Row - (Inc Row) 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, 1tr into next tr, * 2tr into next
tr, 1tr into next tr, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of
row.
(38tr + 3ch)
4th Row - (Inc Row) 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, 1tr into each of next 2tr, * 2tr into
next tr, 1tr into each of next 2tr, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on
beginning of row. (51tr + 3ch)
5th - 11th Rows - 3ch, 1tr into each tr to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of
row. Turn after 11th Row.
Brim - Working into back loop of stitch only make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch,
* miss 1tr, 5tr into next tr, miss 1tr, 1dc into next tr, * rpt from * to * to last
3tr, miss 1tr, 5tr into next tr, miss 1tr, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.
(13, 5tr groups)
Row 2 - Work through both loops of stitch from now on, make 5ch, * miss 2tr, 1dc
into centre tr of 5tr group, make 2ch, miss 2tr, 1tr into next dc, make 2ch, * rpt
from * to * to last 5tr group, miss 2tr, 1dc into centre tr of 5tr group, make 2ch,
ss to 3rd of 5ch on beginning of row. Turn.
Row 3 - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * miss 2ch space, 5tr into next dc, miss 2ch space,
1dc into next tr, * rpt from * to * to last dc, work 5tr into last dc, ss to first
dc on beginning of row. Turn.
Rpt Rows 2 & 3 once or until brim measures approx 2 Inches. Fasten off.
With RS facing join in contrast colour yarn to first dc with a ss, work * 1dc into
each of next 2tr, 3dc into centre tr of 5tr group, 1dc into each of next 2tr, ss
into dc, rpt from * to * end, ss to ss on beginning of row. Fasten off.
Rejoin contrast colour yarn to loose loops on bottom of brim, make 1ch, 1dc into
base of 1ch, 1dc into each loose loop to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row.
Fasten off.
Finishing - Sew in and tie off loose ends of yarn, with contrast colour ribbon make
a bow on the front of the hat.
