5.00mm & 4.00mm crochet hooks

1 mtr of 6mm wide ribbon


GAUGE - 5hdc and 4 rows of hdc measures approx 1” using 4.00mm hook

Cardigan - Worked in one piece starting with Yoke.


With 4.00mm hook and main color, ch38, 1hdc in 3rd ch from hook, 1hdc in each ch to end (36hdc + ch2) Turn.

 

Row 2 - ch2, 1hdc in next 5hdc, (front) 3hdc in next hdc, 1hdc in next 5hdc, (shoulder) 3hdc in next hdc, 1hdc in next 11hdc, (back) 3hdc in next hdc, 1hdc in next 5hdc, (shoulder) 3hdc in next hdc, 1hdc in next 5hdc, 1hdc in top of ch2. (front). Turn. (44hdc + ch2).

 

Row 3 to 8 - ch2, * 1hdc in each hdc to 3hdc group, 1hdc in next hdc, 3hdc in

next hdc, * rpt from * to * 3 more times, 1hdc in each hdc to end, 1hdc in top of ch2. (92hdc + ch2)

 

Row 9 (Shape Armholes) - ch2, 1hdc in each of next 13hdc, ch1, skip 19hdc, 1hdc in each of next 27hdc, ch1, skip 19hdc, 1hdc in each of next 13hdc, 1hdc

in top of ch2. Turn. (54hdc, 2, ch1 spaces + ch2 to turn)

 

Row 10 - ch2, 1hdc in each of next 13hdc, 1hdc in ch1 space, 1hdc in each of next 27hdc, 1hdc in ch1 space, 1hdc in each of next 13hdc, 1hdc in top of ch2. Turn. (56hdc + ch2)

 

Commence Skirt - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * skip 1hdc, 5dc in next hdc, skip 1hdc, 1sc in next hdc, * rpt from * to * to last 3hdc and ch2, skip 1hdc, 5dc in next hdc, skip 1hdc, 1sc in top of ch2. Turn. (14, 5dc groups + ch3).

 

Next Row - ch3, * 5dc in centre dc of 5dc group, 1dc in sc, * rpt from * to * to

end. Turn.

 

Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * 5dc in centre dc of 5dc group, 1sc in next single dc, * rpt from * to * last 5dc group and ch3 to turn, 5dc in centre dc of 5dc group, 1sc in top of ch3. Turn.

 

The last 2 rows form the pattern, rpt both rows three more until 9, 5dc group rows have been worked or work measures approx 7.5 Inches in all from shoulder. DNT.


Work 2 more sc in top of the ch3 to turn with, making 3sc for a corner.


Front Bands - Work 21 sc’s evenly up first front edge of cardigan, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each hdc around neck, 3sc in corner, work 21 sc’s evenly down second front edge to end. Turn. Fasten off.


Next Row - Join in contrast color to first sc, ch1, work 2sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc up first front edge, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each sc around neck, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each sc down second front edge, 3sc in corner, working along bottom of coat work, sl st in next sc, * 1hdc in each of next 5dc, sl st in next sc,

* rpt from * to * to end, 1sc in base of ch1, sl st to first sc. Fasten off.

 

Sleeves x 2 - With RS facing and 4.00mm hook, rejoin main color yarn to centre hdc of 3hdc group under arm, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * skip 1hdc, 5dc in next hdc, skip 1hdc 1sc in next hdc * rpt from * to * around armhole to end, working

last sc in centre hdc of 3hdc group under arm, sl st to first sc. Turn.

(5, 5dc groups)

 

Row 2 - ch3, * 5dc in centre dc of 5dc group, 1dc in sc, * rpt from * to * to last 5dc group, 5dc in centre dc of 5dc group, sl st to top of ch3. Turn.

 

Row 3 - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * 5dc in centre dc of 5dc group, 1sc in next single dc, * rpt from * to * last 5dc group, 5dc in centre dc of 5dc group, sl st to sc at beginning of row. Turn.

 

Rpt Rows 2 & 3 twice, making 7, 5dc group rows worked in all. Fasten off.


Next Row - Join in contrast color to first sc with a sl st, * 1hdc in each of next 5hdc, sl st into next sc, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to first sl st on beginning of row. Fasten off.


Finishing - Close small gap under arms, weave in any loose ends of yarn and trim, attach a small amount of ribbon at neck to tie in a bow.


Pants - With 5.00mm hook ch56, sl st to first ch to form a ring, change to

4.00mm hook, ch2, 1hdc in each ch to end, sl st to top of ch2 on beginning of row. (55hdc + ch2)


Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * skip 1hdc, 5dc in next hdc, skip 1hdc, 1sc in next hdc, * rpt from * to * to last 3hdc, skip 1hdc, 5dc in next hdc, skip 1hdc, sl st to sc on beginning of row. Turn. (14, 5dc groups).


Next Row - ch3, * 5dc in centre dc of 5dc group, 1dc in sc, * rpt from * to * to last 5dc group, 5dc in centre dc of 5dc group, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn.


Next Row - Rpt Row 3 from sleeves. Turn.


Rpt Rows 2 & 3 from sleeves on coat three more times until 9, 5dc group rows have been worked or work measures approx 4.5 inches from beginning. Turn. Place color marker to sl st.


Divide for legs

First Leg - ch3, * 5dc in centre dc of 5dc group, 1dc in sc, * rpt from * to * 6 more times, place color marker to sc were you worked last dc, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row, turn leaving remaining 7 groups un-worked (we will come back too these).


Next Row - ch1, 1sc in next dc, * 5dc in centre dc of 5dc group, 1sc in next single dc, * rpt from * to * last 5dc group, 5dc in centre dc of 5dc group, sl st to sc at beginning of row. Turn.


Rpt Rows 2 & 3 from sleeves four more times until 19, 5dc group rows have been worked from waist or work measures approx 8.5 inches in all. Turn. Fasten off.


Next Row - Join in contrast color to first sc with a sl st, * 1hdc in each of next 5dc, sl st in next sc, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to first sl st on beginning of row. Fasten off.


Second Leg - Return to un-worked stitches at division, with WS facing re-join main color yarn to same sc at centre were your second color marker was placed, work Row 2 from sleeves across the 7, 5dc groups same as you did for first leg, finishing the row with 1dc in same sc as first color marker, continue the rest of the leg same as first. Fasten off.


With WS facing and using contrast color yarn, work 1sc in each of the cast on chain around waist, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Fasten off. (56sc)


Finishing - Remove color markers, close small gap at crotch, weave in ends and trim, thread remaining ribbon through alternate stitches on waist and tie in a bow.
