40 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in colour 2
30 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in colour 1
4.00mm crochet hook, 3 buttons
TENSION - 5tr and 2.5 rows measures approx 1 Inch

Worked in one piece, starting with yoke, using colour 1 make 55ch, (RS) 1tr into
4th ch from hook, 1tr into the next 6ch’s (back), 3tr into next ch, 1tr into next
8ch’s (shoulder), 3tr into next ch, 1tr into the next 17ch’s (front), 3tr into next
ch, 1tr into the next 8ch’s. (shoulder), 3tr into next ch, 1tr into the next 8ch’s
(back). Turn. (60tr + 3ch)
2nd Row - (Inc Row) 3ch, * 1tr into each tr to next 3tr group, 1tr into next tr,
3tr into centre tr of 3tr group, * rpt from * to * to last 3tr group, 1tr into next
tr, 3tr into centre tr of 3tr group, 1tr into each tr to end, work 1tr into top of
3ch. Turn. (68tr + 3ch)
3rd to 8th Row - rpt 2nd Row each row will increase by 8 stitches and you should
have at the end of the 8th Row 116tr + 3ch. Turn.
9th Row - (Divide for Armholes) - Make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each of
next 15tr, 2dc into next tr, miss next 24tr, (armhole) 2dc into next tr, 1dc into
each of next 33tr, 2dc into next tr, miss next 24tr, (armhole) 2dc into next tr,
1dc into each of next 15tr, 1dc into top of 3ch. Turn. (73dc)
Commence with Skirt - 3ch, * miss 1dc, (1ps, 2ch, 1ps) into next dc, * rpt from *
to * to last 2dc, miss 1dc, 1tr into last dc, ss to first 2ch space, ss to top of
3ch Turn. (35, 2ch spaces) (for ps see abbrev)
Next Row - 2ch, 3ps into same space, 3ps into each 2ch space to end, 1tr into top
of 3ch, ss to top of 3ch on the beginning of row to make a round. (35, 3ps groups)
Pattern Row - ss to centre ps of first ps group, make 2ch, 3ps into same ps, * miss
2ps, 3ps into next ps, * rpt from * to * to last 2ps, miss 2ps, ss to first ps on
beginning of row. Turn.
Rpt Pattern Row in colour sequence as follows:-
4 times in colour 1. Fasten off.
5 times in colour 2. Fasten off.
4 times in colour 3. Fasten off.
Sleeves x 2 - With RS facing join colour 1 to centre tr of 3tr on base of sleeve
where you divided for armhole, 1ch, work (1dc, 3ch, 1dc) into base of 1ch, * miss
1tr, (1dc, 3ch, 1dc) into next tr, * rpt from * to * to centre tr of 3tr, miss 1tr,
ss to first dc. Fasten off. (13, 3ch spaces)
Button/Buttonhole Bands - With RS facing rejoin colour 1 to skirt at base of right
hand side of back edge, working into side of tr, make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch,
work 18 more dc evenly into row ends to neck edge, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each
ch around neck, 3dc into corner, 19dc evenly into row ends down second back edge.
Turn.
Next Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each of next 20dc. Turn. (21dc)
Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each dc to end. Fasten off.
Buttonhole Row - Return to first back edge, WS facing, starting from the neck corner
and working downwards, work 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * make 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc
into each of next 7dc, * rpt from * to * once, make 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into each
of the remaining dc. Turn. (3 buttonholes made)
Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each dc and 2ch space up back
edge to end. Fasten off. (21dc)
Flower Wheel - (Worked in rounds without turning) With colour 1 make 4ch, ss to first
ch to form a ring, work 1ch, 8dc into ring, ss to first dc on beginning of row. (8dc)
Row 2 - 1ch, 2dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. (16dc)
Fasten off.
Row 3 - Join in colour 2, 2ch, work 1ps into base of 2ch, * make 1ch, 1ps into next
dc, * rpt from * to * to end, make 1ch, ss to first ps on beginning of row. (16ps
+ 2ch) Fasten off.
Row 4 - Join in colour 3 with a ss to a 1ch space, work 1ch, (1dc, 3ch, 1dc) into
same space, * miss 1ps (1dc, 3ch, 1dc) into next 1ch space, * rpt from * to * to
end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off. (16, 3ch spaces)
Finishing - Weave in all loose ends of yarn and trim, sew on buttons to correspond
with buttonholes, attach flower wheel to front of dress.
