Sweater Back # (Starting with rib) -

With 5.00mm hook and colour 1, make 42ch, (RS) 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into each ch to end. Turn. (39tr + 3ch)


Rib Row 2 - 3ch, * 1fptr into next tr, 1bptr into next tr, (see abbrev) * rpt from * to * to end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn.


Rpt last row twice more.


Next Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * make 1ch, miss 1tr, 1dc into next tr, * rpt from * to * to last 3ch to turn with, 1dc into top of 3ch. Turn.


Pattern Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * make 1ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into next 1ch space, * rpt from * to * to last dc, work 1dc into last dc. Turn.


Rpt Pattern Row twice more. Turn.


Fasten off.


Join in colour 2 and rpt Pattern Row twelve more times. Fasten off. Turn. #

Sweater Front - Rpt from # to # from back of sweater.


Join in colour 1 and rpt Pattern Row until 26 rows have been worked in all from rib or your work measures approx 6.5 Inches from beginning. Turn.


Shape Neck - (Side 1) 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * make 1ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into next 1ch space, * rpt from * to * four more times, work 1dc into next dc. Turn leaving remaining 28st un-worked. (12st)


Next Row - (Dec Row) 1ch, dec 1dc over first 2dc, (see abbrev) 1dc into next 1ch space, * make 1ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into next 1ch space, * rpt from * to * to last dc, 1dc into last dc. Turn.

Shoulder Fastener - Make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc and 1ch space to end. Turn. (10dc)


Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each dc to end. Turn.


Buttonholes - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into next dc, 2ch, miss next dc, 1dc into each of next 4dc, 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into last 2dc. Turn. (2 buttonholes made).


Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each dc and 2ch space to end. Turn. Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each dc to end. Fasten off.


Sleeves x 2 - With colour 1, make 28ch, (RS) 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into each ch to end. Turn. (25tr + 3ch)


Rib Row 2 - 3ch, * 1fptr into next tr, 1bptr into next tr, * rpt from * to * to end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn.


Next Row - (Inc row) 1ch, 2dc into base of 1ch, * make 1ch, miss 1tr, 1dc into next tr, * rpt from * to * to 3ch to turn with, work 2dc into top of 3ch. Turn.


Next Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into next dc, * make 1ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into next 1ch space, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc, make 1ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into last dc. Turn.


Keeping continuity of pattern as set, increase 1dc each end of next and every alternate row by working 2dc into first dc and 2dc into last dc until you have 34st in all. (you should have 7 rows worked from rib) Turn.


Work Pattern Row from back and fronts until 17 rows have been worked from rib or sleeve seam measures approx 4 Inches from beginning. Fasten off.


With WS side facing, join right hand side shoulder seam together by over sewing with a needle and yarn, leave left shoulder seam open (the side with extra rows on front for buttonholes), fold sleeves in half lengthways, then placing centre folds to shoulder, making sure you push shoulder faster out of the way on left shoulder, over sew with needle and yarn into position.


Over sew side and sleeve seams together.


Neck Edge - Using main colour yarn with WS facing and starting on side of open shoulder, rejoin yarn at the bottom of the shoulder fastening, work 8dc down front edge, 16dc across front, 8dc up second front edge, 1dc into each of 20dc along back. Turn. (52dc).


Next Row - Work 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each of next 26dc, dec 1dc over next 2dc, 1dc into each of next 14dc, dec 1dc over next 2dc, 1dc into each dc to end. Turn. Work one more row of 1dc into each dc to end. Fasten off.


Finishing - Sew in and tie off any loose threads of yarn, sew on buttons to correspond with buttonholes on shoulders and fasten.


Pants - With colour 1, make 79ch, ss to first ch to make a ring, (RS) 3ch, work 1tr into each ch to end. Turn. (78tr + 3ch)


Rib Row 2 - 3ch, * 1fptr into next tr, 1bptr into next tr, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Fasten off. Turn.


Next Row - Join in colour 2 make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * make 1ch, miss 1tr, 1dc into next tr, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.


Next Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * make 1ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into next 1ch space, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.


Rpt last row until 29 rows have been worked in all from beginning (including both rib rows) Fasten off.


Divide for Legs


Leg 1 - Join in colour 1, make 3ch, 1tr into each of next 39st, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn leaving 39st un-worked for leg 2.


Rib Row 2 - 3ch, * 1fptr into next tr, 1bptr into next tr, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Fasten off.


Leg 2 - Return to un-worked stitches at division and rejoin colour 1 to same dc as leg 1, continue leg 2 same as leg 1. Fasten off.


Chain Tie - With colour 1 make 100ch. Fasten off.


Finishing - Close small gap on crotch, weave in all loose ends, thread chain tie through stitches on waist and make a bow.
