4.00mm & 5.00mm crochet hooks, 9 buttons
GAUGE - 4.5dc and 2.5 rows measures approx 1 Inch

Cardi - Worked in one piece starting with yoke, using color 1 and 4.00mm hook, ch47,
(RS) 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in the next 4ch, (front) 3dc in next ch, 1dc in
next 7ch, (shoulder) 3dc in next ch, 1dc in the next 15ch, (back) 3dc in next ch,
1dc in the next 7ch, (shoulder) 3dc in next ch, 1dc in the next 6ch. (front) Turn.
(52dc + ch3)
Rows 2 to 7 - ch3, * 1dc in each dc to 3dc group, 1dc in next dc, 3dc in centre dc
on 3dc group, * rpt from * to * to last 3dc group, 1dc in next dc, 3dc in centre

Sleeves x 2 - With WS facing join color 1 to centre dc of 3dc underarm, ch1, work
1sc in base of ch, 1sc in each of next 21dc, 1sc in centre dc of 3dc underarm on
opposite side of sleeve, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn. (23sc)
Next Row - ch3, * skip 2sc, 6dc in next sc, skip 2sc, (1dc, ch1, 1dc) in next sc,
* rpt from * to * to last 4sc, skip 2sc, 6dc in next sc, skip 1sc, work (1dc, ch1)
in base of ch3 on beginning of row, sl st to top of the ch3. Turn. (4, 6dc groups)
Next Row - sl st to ch1 space on first vst, (ch4, 1dc) in same space, ch1, skip 2dc,
1sc in next dc, ch3, * skip 2dc, 1sc in next dc, ch1, skip 2dc, (1dc, ch1, 1dc) in

Next Row - sl st over ch1 space and sc in ch3 space, (ch3, 5dc) in ch3 space, (1dc,
ch1, 1dc) in ch1 space of vst, * 6dc in next ch3 space, (1dc, ch1, 1dc) in next vst,
* rpt from * to * to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Fasten off.
Join in color 2 and rpt last 2 rows once. Fasten off.
Join in color 1 and rpt last 2 rows once. Fasten off.
Button/buttonholes Bands - With color 1, start on lower edge of right hand front
edge, work 32 sc’s evenly up first front edge to corner, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each
dc around neck, 3sc in corner, work 32 sc’s evenly down second front edge to end.
Fasten off. Turn.
Next Row - Join in color 2 to first sc, ch1, work 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each
sc to corner. Fasten off. Turn.
Join in color 1 and rpt last row once. Fasten off.
Buttonhole Row - Working from neck downwards, join color 2 to first sc on opposite
front edge, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in each of next 6sc, *
rpt from * to * once, ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in each of remaining sc. Fasten off. Turn.
Join in color 1 and starting with ch1, 1sc in base of 1sc, work 1sc in each sc and
ch2 space to end. Fasten off.
Finishing - Weave in ends, attach buttons to correspond with buttonholes.
Bibbed Diaper Cover
Back - With color 2 and 4.00mm hook, ch51 loosely, (RS) work 1hdc in 2nd ch from
hook, 1hdc in each ch to end. Turn. (50hdc)
2nd Row - ch1, 1hdc in base of ch1, 1hdc in each hdc to end. Turn.
Rpt 2nd Row until 14 rows have been worked. Fasten off. Turn.
Shape Crotch - Skip 15hdc, join yarn to next dc, ch1, 1hdc in base of ch1, 1hdc in
each of next 19hdc, turn leaving remaining 15hdc un-worked. (20hdc)
Decrease Row - ch1, 1hdc in base of ch1, dec (see abbrev) over next 2hdc, 1hdc in
each hdc to last 3hdc, dec 1hdc over next 2hdc, 1hdc in last hdc. Turn. (18hdc)
Rpt Decrease Row until 8hdc remain. Turn.
Rpt 2nd Row once. Turn.
Front
Increase Row - ch1, 1hdc in base of ch1, 2hdc in next hdc, 1hdc in each hdc to last
2hdc, 2dc in next hdc, 1hdc in last hdc. Turn. (10hdc)
Rpt Increase Row until you have 20hdc. Turn. (20hdc)
Rpt 2nd Row fourteen more times. Fasten off. Turn.
Bib - Skip 5hdc, join yarn to next hdc, ch1 1hdc in base of ch1, 1hdc in each of
next 9hdc. Turn. (10hdc)
Rpt 2nd Row until 6 rows have been worked for bib. Turn.
Border - Change to 5.00mm hook, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to corner,
3sc in corner, 1sc in each of next 6 row ends down first side of bib, 1sc in each
of next 4hdc, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each of next 28 row ends, 1sc in each of next
14hdc, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each of next 14 row ends, 3sc in corner, working along
cast on edge, work 1sc in each of next 48hdc, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each of next
14 row ends, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each of next 14hdc, 1sc in each of next 28 row
ends, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each of next 4hdc, 1sc in each of next 6 row ends up
second side of bib, 1sc in corner, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.
Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc all around Diaper cover and bib
to end, working 3sc in corners, sl st to first sc. Fasten off.
Straps x 2 - Using 4.00mm hook ch4, 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in each ch to end.
Turn.
Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end. Turn.
Rpt last row until 31 rows have been worked. Turn. (you work more rows for a longer
strap if preferred)
Next Row - (Buttonhole Row) ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in last sc.
Turn.
Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1sc in ch2 space and sc. Fasten off.
Chain Tie - ch130. Fasten off.
Finishing - Weave in all loose ends of yarn, thread chain tie through alternate hdc's
on waist and tie in a bow. Sew a button on each corner of the flap and use gaps between
hdc's on front of diaper cover as buttonholes.
Attach each strap end to the back on the inside of the waistband, approx 1.5 Inches
apart, (in line with edges of bib) sew buttons to corners on bib and fasten through
holes on straps.
