1.5oz of Light Worsted Weight #3 yarn in Color 2
4.00mm & 4.50mm crochet hooks
11 decorative buttons

Cardigan (worked in one piece) Starting with yoke, using 4.00mm hook and color 1, ch49, (RS) 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in each ch to end (46dc + ch3) Turn.

Work Third & Fourth Rows twice more in color 1, rpt from # to # on skirt, slip stitching to first sc at the end of each row until three color 2 rows have been worked. Turn.

Contrast Color Border
Starting with RS facing and working along cast on edge, join color 2 to first ch, work 1sc in each ch (64), 3sc in corner, 2sc in each row end, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each of next 22dc, * work 2sc in next row end, 1sc in next row end, * rpt from * to * to end of crotch, 1sc in each of next 5ch, 3sc in corner, 2sc in each row end, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each of next 30dc, 3sc in corner, 2sc in each row end, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each of next 5ch, rpt from * to * to end of crotch, 1sc in each of next 22dc, 3sc in corner, 2sc in each row end, 1sc in corner, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.

Chain Tie -
Finishing -
Weave in all loose ends of yarn, thread chain tie through alternate dc's on waist and tie in a bow. If you prefer to leave front flap out, sew 3 buttons evenly down each side and use gaps between dc's on front flap as buttonholes. (see pic)
