150 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in White (1001) Colour 1
40 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in Sunshine (1114) Colour 2
4.00mm & 4.50mm crochet hooks
11 decorative buttons
TENSION -

Cardigan (worked in one piece) Starting with yoke, using 4.00mm hook and colour 1, make 49ch, (RS) 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into each ch to end (46tr + 3ch) Turn.

Join in colour 2.

Work Rows 2 & 3 in colour sequence as follows:-

Rpt from # to # until four colour 2 rows have worked in all from yoke or work measures approx 9 inches from shoulder. Turn.
Work Row 2 once. Fasten off.
Sleeves x 2 -
Second Row -
Join in colour 2.
Third Row -
Fourth Row -
Fasten off.
Work Third & Fourth Rows twice more in colour 1, rpt from # to # on skirt, slip stitching to first dc at the end of each row until three colour 2 rows have been worked. Turn.

Contrast Colour Border
Starting with RS facing and working along cast on edge, join colour 2 to first ch, work 1dc into each ch (64), 3dc into corner, 2dc into each row end, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each of next 22tr, * work 2dc into next row end, 1dc into next row end, * rpt from * to * to end of crotch, 1dc into each of next 5ch, 3dc into corner, 2dc into each row end, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each of next 30tr, 3dc into corner, 2dc into each row end, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each of next 5ch, rpt from * to * to end of crotch, 1dc into each of next 22tr, 3dc into corner, 2dc into each row end, 1dc into corner, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Chain Tie -
Finishing -
Weave in all loose ends of yarn, thread chain tie through alternate tr's on waist
and tie in a bow. If you prefer to leave front flap out, sew 3 buttons evenly down
each side and use gaps between tr's on front flap as buttonholes. (see pic)
