55 grams of King Cole big value baby DK Yarn


OR

2oz of Light Worsted Weight #3 Yarn

4.00mm crochet hook

4 buttons


GAUGE - 4dc and 2.5 rows measures approx 1 Inch

Back - ch35 loosely, (RS) 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in each ch to end. Turn. (32dc + ch3)

 

2nd Row - ch3, 1dc in each dc to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn.

 

Rpt last row until 14 rows have been worked in all from beginning or work measures approx 6 Inches. Fasten off.


Right Front - # ch18 loosely, (RS) vst (see abbrev) in 4th ch from hook, * skip 2ch, vst in next ch, * rpt from * to * to last 5ch, skip 2ch, vst in next ch, skip ch1, 1dc in last ch. Turn. (5 vst)

 

Row 2 - ch3, vst in ch1 space of each vst to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn.

 

Rpt Row 2 until 11 rows have been worked in all from beginning. #

 

Shape Neck - ch3, vst in ch1 space of each of next 4 vst, 1dc in ch1 space of next vst. Turn. (4 vst)

 

Next Row - sl st to first ch1 space, ch3, work vst in ch1 space of each of next 3 vst, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn.

 

Rpt Row 2 once. Fasten off. (3 vst)

 

Left Front - Rpt from # to # on Right Front. Turn.


Shape Neck - sl st to ch1 space on first vst, ch3, work vst in ch1 space on each of next 4 vst to end, 1dc in to top of ch3. Turn. (4 vst)


Next Row - ch3, vst in ch1 space of each of next 3 vst, 1dc in ch1 space of next vst. Turn.


Rpt Row 2 once. Fasten off. (3 vst)


Sleeves x 2 - ch25 loosely, (RS) 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in each ch to end. Turn. (22dc + ch3)


Next Row - ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, 1dc in each dc to end, 2dc in top of ch3. Turn.

 

Rpt last row until you have 32dc + ch3 remaining and 6 rows have been worked from beginning. Fasten off.

 

Cuff - With RS facing rejoin yarn to starting ch, work ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each ch to end. Turn. (23sc)


Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 2 rows of 1sc in each sc to end. Turn. Fasten off.

 

With WS facing join shoulder seams, fold sleeves in half lengthways, then placing folds to shoulder seams sew sleeves in position. Join side and sleeve seams. (see pic)









Front Edging - With RS facing and starting at lower edge, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work sc evenly in row ends up first front to neck edge, 3sc in corner, work sc evenly around neck, 3sc in corner, sc evenly in row ends down second front, 3sc in corner, sc in each ch along starting chain, 1sc in corner, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.


Buttonhole Row - Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1sc in each sc along bottom of cardigan, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each sc up first front, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each sc around neck, 2sc in corner, * ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in each of next 5sc, * rpt from * to * twice, ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in each of remaining sc, 1sc in corner, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn. (4 buttonholes made)


Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1 more row of 1sc in each sc and ch2 spaces around cardigan to end, working 3sc in corners, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Fasten off.

 

Finishing - Weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn, attach buttons to correspond with buttonholes.
