GAUGE - 4dc and 3 rows measure approx 1 Inch using 4.50mm hook

Worked in one piece starting from yoke


With 4.50mm hook and color 1 ch49, (RS) 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in the next 5ch's, (front) 3dc in next ch, 1dc in next 7ch's, (shoulder) 3dc in next ch, 1dc in the next 15ch's, (back) 3dc in next ch, 1dc in the next 7ch's, (shoulder) 3dc in next ch, 1dc in the next 7ch's. (front) Turn. (54dc + ch3)


Row 2 - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * work 1trc in next dc, 1sc in next dc alternately to the next 3dc group, work 1trc in next dc, 3sc in centre dc on 3dc group, * rpt from * to * to last 3dc group, 1trc in next dc, 3sc in centre dc on 3dc group, work 1trc in next dc, 1sc in next dc alternately to end, working last sc in top of ch3. Turn. (63st)


Fasten off. Join in color 2.


Row 3 - ch3, * 1dc in each st to next 3sc group, 1dc in next sc, 3dc in centre sc of 3sc group, * rpt from * to * to last 3sc group, 1dc in next sc, 3dc in centre sc on 3sc group, 1dc in each st to end. Turn. (70dc + ch3)


Row 4 - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * work 1trc in next dc, 1sc in next dc alternately to the next 3dc group, work 1trc in next dc, 3sc in centre dc on 3dc group, * rpt from * to * to last 3dc group, 1trc in next dc, 3sc in centre dc on 3dc group, work 1trc in next dc, 1sc in next dc alternately to end, working last sc in top of ch3. Fasten off.


Rpt Rows 3 & 4 in color sequence as follows:-


Once in color 1. Fasten off. (95st)

Once in color 2. Fasten off. (111st)

Once in color 1. Fasten off.


You should have 127st in all.


Divide for Armholes - Join in color 2, ch3, 1dc in each st to centre sc of 3sc group, 1dc in centre sc, skip 27st, 1dc in each st to centre sc of next 3sc group, 1dc in centre sc, skip 27st, 1dc in each st to end. Turn. (72dc + ch3)


Commence Body - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1trc in next dc, 1sc in next dc alternately to end, working last sc in top of ch3. Turn. (73st)


1st Pattern Row - ch3, 1dc in each st to end. Turn.


2nd Pattern Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1trc in next dc, 1sc in next dc alternately to end, working last sc in top of ch3. Turn.


Rpt 1st & 2nd Pattern Rows until work measures 9.5 Inches. Turn.


Divide for Legs (First Leg) - ch3, 1dc in each of next 36st, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row to make a round.


Next Row - ch1, 1sc in next dc, work 1trc in next dc, 1sc in next dc alternately to last dc, work 1trc in last dc, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn. (36st)


Pattern Row 1 - ch3, 1dc in each st to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn. (35dc + ch3)


Pattern Row 2 - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1trc in next dc, 1sc in next dc alternately to last dc, work 1trc in last dc, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.


Rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 until leg measures approx 7 Inches from division. Turn.


Leg Cuff (Dec) - ch1, 1sc in base of 1sc, 1sc in next st, * dec 1sc over next 2st, 1sc in each of next 2st, * rpt from * to * to last 2sc, dec 1sc over last 2sc, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn. (27sc)


With 4.00mm hook join in color 1 and work ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn. Rpt last row once. Fasten off.


Second Leg - Rejoin color 2  to same sc at division, ch3, 1dc in each of next 36st, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Complete second leg same as first.


Sleeves x 2 - Rejoin color 2 to centre sc of 3sc on base of armhole, ch3, 1dc in each of next 27st, 1dc in centre sc of 3sc group on opposite side of sleeve, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn. (28dc + ch3)


Next Row - ch1, 1sc in next dc, continue with Pattern Row 2 from legs. Turn.


Rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 from legs until under arm seam measures approx 5 Inches.


Sleeve Cuff - ch1, 1sc in base of 1sc, 1sc in each st to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Fasten off. Turn. (28sc)


With 4.00mm hook join in color 1 and work ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn. Rpt last row once. Fasten off.


Button/Buttonhole Bands - Working on WS and starting at lower edge on front band, work 38sc evenly in row ends up first front edge to corner, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each ch around neck to next corner, 3sc in corner, 38sc evenly in row ends down second front edge to end. Turn.


Buttonhole Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in next sc, * ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in next 8sc, * rpt from * to * three more times, ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in last sc. Turn.

(5 buttonholes made).


Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc and ch2 space to end. Fasten off.


Button Band - Return to neck edge on first front edge, working from neck downwards. * ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end. * Turn. Rpt from * to * once. Fasten off.


Finishing - Close small gaps under arms, weave in any loose ends of yarn and trim, sew on buttons to correspond with buttonholes, attach animal appliqué.
