With 4.50mm hook and colour 1 make 49ch, (RS) 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into
the next 5ch, (front) 3tr into next ch, 1tr into next 7ch, (shoulder) 3tr into next
ch, 1tr into the next 15ch, (back) 3tr into next ch, 1tr into the next 7ch, (shoulder)
3tr into next ch, 1tr into the next 7ch. (front) Turn. (54tr + 3ch)
Row 2 - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * work 1dtr into next tr, 1dc into next tr alternately
to the next 3tr group, work 1dtr into next tr, 3dc into centre tr on 3tr group, *
rpt from * to * to last 3tr group, 1dtr into next tr, 3dc into centre tr on 3tr group,
work 1dtr into next tr, 1dc into next tr alternately to end, working last dc into
top of 3ch. Turn. (63st)
Fasten off. Join in colour 2.
Row 3 - Make 3ch, * 1tr into each st to next 3dc group, 1tr into next dc, 3tr into
centre dc of 3dc group, * rpt from * to * to last 3dc group, 1tr into next dc, 3tr
into centre dc on 3dc group, 1tr into each st to end. Turn. (70tr + 3ch)
Row 4 - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * work 1dtr into next tr, 1dc into next tr alternately

Divide for Armholes - Join in colour 2, make 3ch, 1tr into each st to centre dc of
3dc group, 1tr into centre dc, miss 27st, 1tr into each st to centre dc of next 3dc
group, 1tr into centre dc, miss 27st, 1tr into each st to end. Turn. (72tr + 3ch)
Commence Body - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dtr into next tr, 1dc into next
tr alternately to end, working last dc into top of 3ch. Turn. (73st)
1st Pattern Row - Make 3ch, 1tr into each st to end. Turn.
2nd Pattern Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dtr into next tr, 1dc into next
tr alternately to end, working last dc into top of 3ch. Turn.
Rpt 1st & 2nd Pattern Rows until work measures 9.5 Inches. Turn.
Divide for Legs (First Leg) - Make 3ch, 1tr into each of next 36st, ss to top of
3ch on beginning of row to make a round.
Next Row - 1ch, 1dc into next tr, work 1dtr into next tr, 1dc into next tr alternately
to last tr, work 1dtr into last tr, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (36st)
Pattern Row 1 - 3ch, 1tr into each st to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row.

Pattern Row 2 - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dtr into next tr, 1dc into next tr alternately
to last tr, work 1dtr into last tr, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.
Rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 until leg measures approx 7 Inches from division. Turn.
Leg Cuff (Dec) - Make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1dc, 1dc into next st, * dec 1dc over
next 2st, 1dc into each of next 2st, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc, dec 1dc over
last 2dc, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (27dc)
With 4.00mm hook join in colour 1 and work 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each
dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. Rpt last row once. Fasten off.
Second Leg - Rejoin colour 2 to same dc at division, make 3ch, 1tr into each of
next 36st, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Complete second leg same as first.
Sleeves x 2 - Rejoin colour 2 to centre dc of 3dc on base of armhole, make 3ch, 1tr
into each of next 27st, 1tr into centre dc of 3dc group on opposite side of sleeve,
ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. (28tr + 3ch)
Next Row - 1ch, 1dc into next tr, continue with Pattern Row 2 from legs. Turn.
Rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 from legs until under arm seam measures approx 5 Inches.
Sleeve Cuff - Make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1dc, 1dc into each st to end, ss to first
dc on beginning of row. Fasten off. Turn. (28dc)
With 4.00mm hook join in colour 1 and work 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each
dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. Rpt last row once. Fasten off.
Button/Buttonhole Bands - Working on WS and starting at lower edge on front band,
work 38dc evenly into row ends up first front edge to corner, 3dc into corner, 1dc
into each ch around neck to next corner, 3dc into corner, 38dc evenly into row ends
down second front edge to end. Turn.
Buttonhole Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into next dc, * make 2ch, miss 1dc,
1dc into next 8dc, * rpt from * to * three more times, make 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into
last dc. Turn. (5 buttonholes made).
Next Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc and 2ch space to end. Fasten
off.
Button Band - Return to neck edge on first front edge, working from neck downwards.
* Make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end. * Turn. Rpt from * to
* once. Fasten off.
Finishing - Close small gaps under arms, weave in any loose ends of yarn and trim,
sew on buttons to correspond with buttonholes, attach animal appliqué.
